My Mom Came To America Essay
America is one big melting pot. All kinds of people come to start a new life and have more opportunities. I am especially lucky because I was born in America with many opportunities to achieve success. On both of my family sides, my ancestors escaped big life struggles to come to America and start better lives.
My mom was born into the Ormiston Family, her great, great grandmother lived in Ireland for many years. But in 1848, Her family fled to America due to the lack of food and work. During the time they left, the 1845 Potato famine was ruining many Irish lives and forcing them to pick up their bags and move. So, when she came to America she dated many men and then finally got pregnant. Oblivious of who was the father, she had the baby.
