My First Permission
My First Permission.

It was a beautiful hot Friday on the summer 2006. I was in school with my

friend we were in gym at the time we were planning a pool party for the next day. We

were so exited cause it was going to be the 1st time that we were going to ask for

permission to go out by ourselves.

Personally me, I was really nervous. Since i was the youngest daughter my

parents were extremely stricted with me, so deep inside I was afraid to my

parents reaction. My friends and i accorded to ask for permission as soon as we

get home. But i still had no idea of how to bring up this topic to my parents.

I got home around 2pm. However my dad was sleeping and my mom was on the

phone. So I went to shower and I couldn't stop thinking how to ask my parents for the

permission, so for the moment I wanted to keep my mom happy with me so She would

be on my side; so I cleaned my room, I did the laundry and finished the dishes.

But then I started thinking if i should ask my mom 1st, so when I finally

convinced myself to tell my mom i received a phone call and a text message of my

friends they wanted to let me know that they were all set with their permission so that

made me way more nervous. I ran to my room and started crying i was so sure that my

parents were going to say no, i cried till i fall asleep. I woke up around 7pm and went

down stairs and walk into the kitchen and said.

"Do you need me to help you mom.?"

"Do you want something?" My mom said. After she stared at me for a few seconds.

I smiled at het and grabbed the plates, folks and cups to organized them on the

table. After we ate my dad went to watch TV, and my mom however went to the living

room to read magazines. It seemed like anything was working out i got very upset, and

went to sleep.

So it was finally Saturday, when I checked my phone all of my friends had texted

me to let me know that they had their permission and set a time which would be at

3:30pm so by the time I woke up my dad was home with my mom sitting in the living

room so I didn’t think it twice I just jumped and said.

"Mom, Dad; theres something I've been wanting to tell you."

They both looked at eachother and my dad said.

"What is it ?"

I stared at them for a couple of seconds; my eyes got watery, but i still told them.

"My friends and I planned a pool party for this afternoon at 3:30pm."

They stayed quit and stared at me for like 10 seconds, out of a sudden i started dropping tears. I was so sure that they were going to say no, and my mom asked me.

"Whats wrong, why you crying ?" "Cause i know your not going to let me go." I replyed.

My mom looked at my dad with the surprised face and my dad said. "Of course we're going to let you, we trust you; so u can go. But make sure you come before midnight.

I learnt a lot out of all the drama i made out of nothing and all the prejudge I

made, which I regret. I also learnt to stand up and ask or say my opinion before judging

other peoples thoughts.

When I decided to tell my mom and stepdad I was terrified. I was so scared they would shun me and tell me they didn’t want me to live with them and they wouldn’t be supportive. I was also afraid my mother would be disappointed in me for following in her footsteps. To my surprise, their reaction was actually the opposite of that. They didn’t judge me at all. In fact they both hugged me and reassured me that everything would be okay and we would all get through this together, like family should.…

Looking back to middle school I remember the fear I had for someday having to go to high school. My teachers always told me how different and harder it would be when I went. My older sister was in 9th grade at the time and I wanted ti be with her when I went. But the high school she was at was different from the one all my friends were going. I always had a hard time making decisions and now I had to choose between going to a school with my friends or going to a school that would help me prepare for the future. So I decided I would just apply to my sisters school to see if I got accepted, going into the interview I wasn't really scared because it didn't matter to me, I just thought whatever happens, happens. Surprisingly I got accepted and…

Then, a few weeks later, after I got home from softball practice, there was a strange but familiar looking truck parked beside moms car. Talk about an awkward situation. This was my mom, and she wasn't supposed to have someone staying over at the house,…
