My First Car Research Paper
My Not So Fancy First Car
I remember getting my first car like it was yesterday; it was a warm August afternoon and I was working an overtime shift at the local McDonald’s restaurant in an attempt to save up money so I could buy my first car. I turned around to hand out a bag of food and saw my mom smiling at me and dangling a set of keys. She told me to meet her out front so I got permission from my manager, who was apparently in on the surprise, and bounded outside. My mom met me there and handed the keys to me pointing at a 1985 Chevrolet Chevette. She told me the car was nothing much to look at but it was paid off and all mine. I was so excited that I took the rest of the day off; which had apparently also been Okayed in advance by my mom with my manager.
I walked up to the small, boxlike, car with a bright smile on my face and let my fingertips brush gently along the chipped and rusted paint and took in every angle of the body. The hatchback sloped down to the bumper, which was dented just under the latch, and closed up tightly. I moved to the driver side of the car and let my eyes drink in the scratches and rust marks that led to the front bumper. My eyes moved over the tiny, black tires. They almost seemed like they didn’t even belong on a car, and there were no fancy rims,

With a slight turn of the wrist the car roared to life with a loud rumble. I looked around and saw no smoke coming from the engine or tail pipe and I felt a sudden burst of pride; she was an ugly old car, but she was mine. I put her in reverse and started to back out of the parking spot. The car shook a little, just enough to let you know she was moving. The steering was very easy, it didn’t stick in the least and felt almost as smooth as power steering. After putting her into drive I took off for the first ride in my not so fancy first

The long mundane car ride casual for an average saturday or sunday going down a road that is by heart memorized, but forgotten by mind. Finally the car ride is over and the cold moist air like a block of ice hits me as I step out of the car. There I am walking up to the front porch and greeted by my dad with a warm hug and a bright smile, and my brother and sister received the same treatment and walk into the medium sized house with the modern brown ikea couches, the hazelnut reclining chair with a diamond pattern and the black and silver TV on a dark wood tv stand holding the xbox one and ps4 and the cable box , the TV lights up with blue, black, silver and red as my brother presses a button on the controller.…

As I stepped into the mud colored cattle car, just the sight of it had made me wince. As I entered, it was like the other passengers were staring at me with shame, since if you were in the cattle car you had to of done something bad. I quickly put my head down. I could just feel the sticky wretched smell of feces and body odor in the car. My mother and I put our suitcases on the shelves, heaving them with all our strength to the very top shelf. We waited hours for in the dark, crammed, and smelly car before we started moving.…

After this very uncanny event, I suddenly found my self at what seemed like a huge, indoor parking structure, which just had a few cars here and there. As we proceeded to walk up the concrete stairs, I realized my mother was still not part of the group and it was just my father, sister, and grandmother. My father looked very excited just as a child would be if they got a new toy for Christmas. I did not know where I was going nor did I care or try to stop myself. It was as if I was a zombie, following my folks to some uncertain place. As we stopped at one of the levels, he ended up taking me towards a car. As I came closer, I could make out the bright orange color, and sparkling shine. Once close by, I realized that it was the car that I had always wanted as a teen and now had long forgotten about. It was a BMW E46 M3, with all the accessories and gizmos, which was just the way I had imagined mine to be. I had a feeling of shock and awe. One thing I realized about the car was that it had an emblem in the back that of a M5 instead, which struck a cord in me, but I soon after forgot as he gave me the keys.…

How many less driver’s world there be in this world if everyone needed a high school diploma to have a driver’s license? From my point of view, high school does not teach you anything that requires driving skills other than making sure you have the ability to read, so that you are able to understand the signs that you pass. Driving does not require book smarts. In my opinion, being able to drive, you need to be aware, patient, and have a positive attitude.…

My mother sat in the passenger seat scrutinizing the car continuously as the salesman sat back comfortably in the back-seat rattling of facts on the like a regular machine, trying to add more value with each sentence. I blocked them both out, in that moment there was only me and the car, it moved calmly out of the lot, no rattling sounds or an overabundance of engine clutter. There are many moments that are special in life, I’ve heard people talk about, their first kid, going to the prom and even getting married; this was my moment, when I was behind that wheel it was as if the whole world just faded away. I no longer paid attention to the verb back and forth between my mother and salesman, no all that mattered now was the ride. I was one with the car, every purr, every puff of the wind that flowed past its smooth exterior and it was in this moment that I knew I had found my first…

I'm the kind of person that loves to work on cars and and doesn't like to sit around inside and do nothing. I really want to be in human resources and work for a big company. I like towns where everybody knows everybody and it's not loud. I also love cars its all ive ever liked. I've always loved the feeling when you start your car and let it run. It gives me butterflies. I was so tired, even attempting to keep my eyes open was a struggle. My whole body was achy after a hard day’s of school work, constantly staring at a computer screen and typing away, just to finish an essay. My pale white hands, frozen by the air conditioning blasting on high, were holding on to the steering wheel like a person gripping the edge of a cliff, hoping not to fall into a dark abyss. My brain wanted to give in, to remain in the sleep that I kept dangerously drifting in and out of. I took a look outside, the road looking meek. The rows if brush hoars any objects spattered off the road by vehicles in the August sun. It felt like I was going around in a circle, my tires skating around the bends and turns of the road. I felt maybe I should slow down so I do not lose…

Immediately, when I turned sixteen I woke up in the morning and saw a pair of shinny silver keys sitting on my desk. I jumped up with excitement and rushed out the door wearing only my boxers, with the keys dangling in my hand. There it was: my brand new GMC Envoy, dark hunter green with a wax that could blind you. I stared at the car with excitement and admiration; it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and it was mine. I took it for a test drive around the block and opened it up on the highway only three blocks from my house. It had a V8 under the hood, black leather seats, a Bose sound system and enough horsepower to tow anything I desired. After my first test drive around the neighborhood, I picked up the phone and called my friends. I couldn't wait to show off my new car. With a quick thank you and a hug for my parents, I sprinted out the door. Hearing a faint be careful from my mom in the background, I slammed the front door and raced to my car.…

After all, that was the most eventful day of my life, which changed the person I was.Everything started on 18th of November when my aunt sent a car to my mother, a beautiful blue Audi, the latest in 2004.
