My Favorite Place To Visit: Jiuzhaigou Valley Jiuzhaigou valley literally means “nine village valley”. The name is from the nine Tibetan villages along its length. Jiuzhaigou located at the southern end of the Minshan mountain range that is the northwestern of Sichuan province. The valley is known for its many multi-level waterfalls, colorful lakes, and snow-capped peaks. Its elevation ranges from 6,600 to 14,800 ft. I went there with my friends at the spring of 2009. First we took a flight to the capitol city airport at Sichuan. Then we took a bus drive us to the Jiuzhaigou valley. That is a really long drive takes like 4 or 5 hours; and most part of the driving is at the edge of the mountain. Because of the elevation keep increasing, most of our group have the altitude reaction such as headache, anoxia and nosebleed. However, after we arrive the valley, all the reaction just go away because the air is so fresh and the beautiful scenery. We have a rest at the hotel for one night; then we start our travel along the Jiuzhaigou valley. There are seven of the nine Tibetan villages are still populated today; and three of the seven are open to tourists. The three villages are Rize Valley, Zechawa Valley, and Shuzheng Valley. Rize Valley is 11 miles long and contains the largest variety of sites. Going down from its highest point, one passes the following sites: the Primeval Forest, Swan Lake, Grass Lake, Arrow Bamboo Lake, Panda Lake, Five Flower Lake, and Mirror Lake. The forest is a preserved ancient woodland. It is fronted by spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and cliffs, including the 500 m high blade-shaped Sword Rock. Swan Lake is a 2250 m long, 125 m wide picturesque lake named for its visiting swans and ducks. Grass Lake is a shallow lake covered in intricate vegetation patterns. Arrow Bamboo Lake is a shallow lake with a depth of 6 m. It lies at an elevation of 2,618 m, and was a main

Yosemite is a wonderful place to visit. If you have leisure time on your hands you should visit Yosemite. When I traveled there it took about 6-7 hours because I live in Orange County and Yosemite is located in east-central California. When I was there I saw the beautiful granite mountains called Half Dome, and El Capitan. Half Dome looks like a rock with giant piece chipped out of it. El Capitan looks to me like a huge arrowhead. My family and I walked on a bridge made of rock and took in the amazing sights. I also stared at the numerous waterfalls that gushed out of the sides of mountains. My brother, friends (who also came to Yosemite with me), and I hiked up many trails that led to creeks, edges of water falls, forests, and the bottoms of mountains.…

The weather was great, sunny skies and in the 70’s, a great day for a wedding. We had the chairs setup for the guests and the flowers arranged nicely. With everything setup I met my daughter at my front door and walked her down the isle to the alter to give her away. The…

I have lived in Soc Trang for 15 years and this is a very special province to me. Someday, if you want to go to somewhere interesting, maybe Soc Trang is one of the best choices for you. This province lies next to the Mekong river with the area is about 3312 km2 and approximately 1,2 million inhabitants. When you go to Soc Trang, you can not help visiting pagodas, especially Bat pagoda. This is a very special pagoda with beautiful Khmer architecture and hundreds of bat in the pagoda backyard. Shoppers can go to Nga Nam floating market or night market to buy good specialities. If pagodas and markets are for the adults, there are also some interesting places for the youth such as My Phuoc ecotourism area, Binh An park or Fresh Water lake. Beside entertaining and shopping, tourists can also enjoy many special kinds of food in Soc Trang. “pia” cake, “bun mam” and “banh cong” are some good suggestions. Moreover, many festivals and exciting activities are held in Soc Trang every year. For example: Ooc-om-boc festival with Ngo boat race, Chon-chnam-thmay with wind lanterns… And if you go to Soc Trang at the beginning of this November, you can jion a very special festival-rice festival-an important and meaningful event to Soc Trang people. Despite of all these, Soc Trang is not always a busy place. The residents here live a peaceful life. They are warm, friendly and always ready to help other people, especialoly tourists. In summary, although Soc Trang is not my real hometown, I still love it very much and in my opinion, it is the best place to live…
