My Dream House: The Way I Like It
DREAM HOUSE

My dream house, what would it be what would it look like it, and most important where will I build it. I like the countryside wide open areas, maybe farm lands with some animals. But I do like the city life with the nose, rude people, and heavy traffic on the high way. There is pros and cons to both environment, the countryside close to no air pollution, but less services you need to travel more to access services. The pros and cons of the city life more cultural opportunities, more diversity of people, more opportunities for higher education, better services like trash collection, water and sewer, cons more crime, more pollution, higher costs living. So as you can see I am little undecided about my dream house so. I am just going to explain two type of dream houses and locations one countryside and one in the city. First the city it would most likely be in Broward County a lake front home of course “I love water”. It would be 3 story house because it’s very hard to build full basements here. So one of the floors would be more like a half basement because the property will have a 3 car garage. The outside of the house would be a dark brown wood siding, and then a simple rock base that goes up about 1 feet on the house to give the old house effect. The side facing the water would be all glass so we can always look out to the gorgeous lake in front of us. It would have a long paved private driveway. The first floor would have moving glass door, doors opens with voice commands. There is a small flower garden and vegetable garden off to the one side of the house with solar powdered lights wrap around the whole house. At night the house look like a big Christmas ornaments. There are a few grape fruit trees scattered across the property also. Now let’s go inside the house and explore my creations. First thing you will noticed is the crown molding and a spiral staircase with lots of architectural designs. The floors in the house would be deep black hardwood, except the kitchen which well be stone tile. The walls are all off white throughout the house, but the bedrooms of course have different colors themes. The kitchen is very large and open, perfect for entertaining guests. There a large island in the middle that has a few bar stools on one side. On the other side is a wall wine fridges underneath the island. Also on the island there is a small sink. On the regular counter there is also a double large sink. The counters are all marble of course, materials from my local habitat for humanity. The colors are just a simple beige, yellow with black in it that’s if I can find them or I am just going with the color they have. The appliances are all restaurant quality. In fact, some restaurants would be jealous of the quality of the stove and oven. Let me take it up a notch, I will have a brick oven with imported Italian terracotta bricks. There would be a large two door fridge with a large pull out freezer underneath. Of course the fridge produces ice and nice perfectly cold water, no bottle water allowed on the properties because the whole house will be filter. There's a massive aquarium, neon blue in colored. I'd have a wide variety of sea creatures in it such as octopuses, sharks, Blue Gourami or 3 Spot Gourami and some The Butterfly Loach. I just hope the sharks don’t eat all the fish in the aquarium. There is 6 bedrooms, one for me of course the master bedroom and one for future kids all with walk in closets. The other 2 would become lovely guest bedrooms for family and friends. There would be another room just for the computer and the large TV for gaming and watching movies. In that room there would also be lazy boy’s recliners for a nice relaxing movie watching experience surround sound of course. There would be the living room, with huge comfy chairs and couches and a cozy fake fire place for the family and guests to relax in, basking the ambience. And also, one extra room with another TV with pull out couches in case there are more people over than expected. It would also have a room with a microwave for popcorn and small kitchen area for other movie snacks and drinks and a theatre size screen. Yes that’s make 3 rooms with three different movie opportunity. There is 4 full bathrooms. 2 have baths, but the other 2 just have the standup shower.one added thing just for the hell of it because it’s my dream house on one of the balconies upstairs is a huge hot tub, overlooking the lake. I picked this location because I've loved this mutli-city and the lake big, plus the beach is near by 5 minutes. The most amazing place to live in the world in my opinion. One word to describe my house Magnificent. The three best amenity I would have this house is the filter water throughout the house, like I said no plastic bottle or any sort of juice jugs. Second would be the solar panels, don’t know if I want to mount them on the roof or a section in the yards. Third is a small green house for my plants and fruits and veggies. This idea for my dream house is a revolving idea, I found myself changing it every time. I want an energy efficient home, with the windows and doors to the sprinkler for the grass. I think my chance of getting my dream house is not far fetch, if I am focus I will get it. Now for my second dream house, I mean the title does say dream house so why not have a second house. Ok back to the house, I would have the house in a remote part of the country, I am think Alaska would be a good fit. The reason I choose this location, because it’s one of the last frontier. You basically live off the land, you eat what you hunt. Typically life on the frontier is harsh, because you may have to go without plumbing or modern heating that you may be custom to. The winter up there is long and cold and the nights seems to never end. I don’t think I would live there year round because it may be too much for me to handle, but I will try. I will keep a positive mind set about it. I would like to build a two story house on a remote area nearby a lake and or forest. I would love to have a small plane landing strip nearby. Because I want an easy access to leave if case of an emergency. The house would sit on a huge acres of land. There would be a big cozy kitchen, where I could cook whatever I wanted. A huge garden with trees, vegetable patches, and meadows where I could play with my dogs and walk through when I need to think to myself. My bedroom would be painted fire red, and I would have a balcony overlooking the lake or forest. The layout of the house would be unusual, with little passages and secret rooms the lead to other secret rooms. I would want about five bedrooms (for the family), a study, 4 bathrooms, lounge, conservatory, and a few random rooms. The rooms will be cozy, and vintage, and everyone will love visiting my home. I want a small heated swimming pool, but has not figure out where I will get the water and power from still thinking about that. I will build a very large barn to house all my toys and machines. Sense my home will be and cold country there a few vehicle that are needed like snow plow, chainsaws and wood chippers. Now for toys it would be show skis, snow mobile and snow boards. I would also have a gun room with more guns than Rambo 1 2 3 put to together. The guns will be used for hunting purposes, it’s something I always wanted to take up. Because where I would build this house will be in the wilderness with lots of animals. Hunting will be almost and day to day activities. Now for power I will install solar panels and have a generator, it will be used for back up. Inside the country house I’ll have hardwood flooring throughout the house. A huge deck/porch is definitely needed for this house. The best way to describe this home is Saucy. The meaning to that term as it relate to this house is that is bold and lively. My three best amenity is the solar panels, the 360 deck/porch and the open scenery. I had this second house in mind for a while now as you can see it’s not a finish project. I don’t think I even detail the interior of the home very well, because I have not reach that step yet to do. I guess I get these ideas from watching my favorite shows on TV like Alaska last frontier and railroad Alaska. I think I have a high chance of getting this house, just wondering will I survive living in to. Is it worth it to follow up on this dream house, I WILL SEE!!!! Reference

The House on Mango Street is in a poverty- stricken neighborhood in Chicago. That is where Esperanza Corderos and her family moved to. When the Corderos family lived in a house on Loomis, a nun (working at Esperanza’s school) was in disbelief when Esperanza pointed out where she and her family had lived. The way the nun acted affected Esperanza, making her feel dissatisfied and embarrassed of where she was living. Esperanza could not wait to move again. Esperanza describes the new house stating “ Bricks are crumbling in places, and the front door is so swollen you have to push hard to get in”. Her dream house would have working pipes, a basement, more than one bathroom, and real stairs. The house might not be perfect as the dream house she…

Located at 205 South 16th Street stands a house different from most. Its brick is layed in an orthodox pattern and its windows are long and narrow. The slender columns around the front porch suggest a Queen Ann style of house, but its curved roofing and widows walk make it more of a vernacular type of home. The house has multiple embellishments which also suggest that it could be a Queen Ann type of building because Queen Ann style homes have numerous amounts of detail and small, slender columns. For instance, this particular home has detailing on the crowning above the windows. Above the windows and front door is a structure that is painted yellow and has several details carved into it to make it look similar to the edge of lace. This draws attention to the…

Novel vs. Romance: A novel is concerned with characters and events. It may contain symbols, but these are of secondary concern. A romance, on the other hand, may have events and characters, but the real focus is on the ideas and the symbolism that shape the book. These are inextricable from the story itself. The characters and events in a romance are only there to get across these larger ideas and the symbolism—and usually these are intended to lead the reader to some “higher truth.” In The Scarlet Letter, which is a romance, you should be looking for the multiplicity of meanings awarded to symbols. Don’t expect them to be static. For Hawthorne, nothing is ever simple or clear-cut. Meaning shifts. Be prepared to follow and understand these shifts. The most obvious example is the symbolic scarlet letter itself. Track what it stands for throughout the book.…

Each townhouse was herded together in packs of eight, all exact replicas of one another. They were small and quaint and housed mostly two person families. The yards were bare and uncared for, except one. The address decals were bold and faux finished with gold and black tarnish that hung on a silver plaque that was hard to miss. The garden was practically professionally tidy and trimmed; there were Pansies, Columbine bushes, Tulips, and strawberry pots that were overflowing with Chicks and Hens. The walk up to the front door was blotted with country blue and black spray paint from small appliance renovations and elementary school projects. The front door looked like an entryway to war, teemed with deep gouges, dents and dings from the fourteen years of furniture and small children that paraded through. Many memories, tired souls, hungry children, and walks of life all sizes and shapes marched through that door. It was where a home began.…

The house of my dream is a two-storeyed blue cottage with a bluish roof in picturesque suburb near the Pacific Ocean. The porch is below ground level because there is a long staircase leading to the hall. In the hall we see another staircase which leads from the hall to the landing on the first floor. On the right there is a dining room. There is a little table and four black chairs for guests. On the left there is a living room where we can gether with my family, watch TV and relax. The room is almost white because of white wallpapers and furniture. It is very spacious. In the middle of the sitting room we have a table with a few armchairs and sofas around it. A big green plant near the table makes the lounge more colourful and vivid. There is also a nice bouquet and a couple of books on the table. Next to the lounge is a kitchen. It’s very modern and bright. There is a black and white chequered floor, a large red table and two stools. As for some electrical gadgets used for preparing, there are a lot of them: a dishwasher, a range, a hotplate, a fridge, a freezer, a toaster, a coffeemaker, a cooker hood and so on. There are also a lot of utensils in a drawers: some canisters, can and bottle openers, pot holders, scouring pads, casserole dishes, pots etc. In front of the table there is a big picture of a red apple.…

In the inside, the plain white color would brace the walls with paintings from exhibitions. I like paintings from the Africa continent and the ancient Asian art. In addition, sculptures would come in handy in the interior decorations. The black leather couches would have a clear appeal to the house and make it comfortable. Furnishing the house would be very easy as my preference would be artistic furniture. A lazy bag is also a favorite piece, not because am lazy but because it ensures creativity and relaxation; additionally, the Jacuzzi would be a no missing feature. I would not go for the many roomed and large houses since they have a feel of loneliness.…

As I approach the lot in which my dream house awaits, sitting on an ocean shore. A simple two story home, painted a light blue with white shudders. A balcony, that wraps around the entire second floor of the house. The bedroom’s on the second floor with white French doors that lead to the balcony. I walk up the small, few wooden stairs that lead to the white wooden door. I turn the silver colored door-knob counter clockwise pushing the door open. Walking into the living room with my husband Greyson, sitting on the brown leather sectional couch, watching the television. With a brown leather arm chair, sitting a few feet away from the couch, sitting at the end of the glass coffee table that sits directly in the middle of the room. A forty-six inch television placed on a brown entertainment center. The room’s walls painted a medium-like beige color, the floors a cherry hardwood flooring color, family photos hanging on the wall by the stairs, and a patio door that leads to the deck, with a great view of the ocean’s shore.…

I’ve always thought about the theme of my house whenever I get to see shows about interior design. After some thinking, I decided that I would love to have a modern-themed house. Despite my house having a modern theme, I would like for it to be built on the side of a mountain which is facing towards the sea and has a great view of the sunset. Obviously, I am a nature lover. When viewed outside, I like it to look like it is made up of glass. The glass that will be used would be the one way glass wherein you can see the outside from the inside but you cannot see the inside from the outside. The walls are only to be used as dividers inside and the pillars that would support the house should be inconspicuous. The house would only have two floors with a patio and a Jacuzzi bath tub at the back. The house will be painted black for the exterior and white for the interiors. The living room will have a fire place with a television above it. The two large black sofas will be placed perpendicular to each other wherein one is facing the fireplace and the other facing the window. It will also have a large green plant in one corner of the room. The kitchen will be island style. There will be a mini bar on one corner of the room if ever I needed a drink. On the second floor, the bedrooms are to be located. The house will have four bedrooms: a master bedroom, two bedrooms for my kids and a guest room. All the rooms on this floor are sound proof. Also found on the second floor would be the reading room…
