Abstract – The receivers used to list Amplitude Modulation – Double Sideband Carrier (AM-DSBC) as the simplest receivers of any radio modulation technique; which may be why that version of amplitude modulation is still widely used today [1]. Amplitude modulation techniques are well established and understood when implemented with analog circuits and in Simulink. Since amplitude modulation is one of the earliest radios’ modulation techniques, this study illustrated the small part of its larger system. It examined and modeled the process of generating amplitude-modulate using MatLab – Simulink and Multisim program with a modulating frequency (message signal) of 2Hz and a carrier frequency of 50Hz having an ideal modulation of 100%. Also, this study compared three different results of an AM signal through Matlab Code Simulink, and Multisim system. The history of generating amplitude-modulated signal will also be tackled. Lastly, this study will evaluate the disadvantages and advantages of using amplitude modulation process.

Going through the study, the researcher applied corresponding method in each different system in order to obtain the aimed data and results. The message frequency signal and carrier frequency signal are in sine and cos waveform with different frequencies while the output signal was in amplitude-modulated form with modulation index of 1. In comparing three outcomes, the modulating frequency signal, carrier frequency signal and AM signal are closely similar with one another, wherein the researchers acquired the accurate data.

Amplitude modulation is considered one of the easiest methods in analog-to-digital conversion. And since AM technology is much simpler than frequency modulation (FM), it is still used in

    6. Modulation Speed: (1) Coding of information onto the carrier frequency. Types of modulation include amplitude modulation (AM), frequency modulation (FM), and phase modulation (PM). (2) When light is emitted by a medium, it is coherent, meaning that it is in a fixed-phase relationship within fixed points of the light wave. The light is used because it is a continuous, or sinusoidal, wave (a white or blank form) upon which a signal can be super imposed by modulation of that form. The modulation is a variation imposed upon this white form, a variation of amplitude, frequency, or phase of the light. There are two basic forms of this modulation: one by an analog form, another by a digital signal. This signal is created in the form of the “intelligence” and superimposed…

Telecommunications relies on the transmission of data through different mediums such as a telephone, radio, television, among others. These transmissions are done through two signal types, which are analog and digital. Analog is the first type of transmission type because it is the older and has been around for a lot longer than digital. On the other hand, even though digital transmission is a younger generation, it is currently use in more devices than analog. Each signal has its advantages and disadvantages, but in most scenarios, both need to work together to create an effective transmission. Technologies that convert analog into digital and vice-versa have been created for this purpose. Converting the signals allows for a more cohesive environment because each can be adjusted to work on devices or mediums not made for them originally. The next part of this paper covers the technologies use to convert these signals.…

The second form of angular modulation is phase modulation. Phase Modulation is a method of impressing data onto an alternating-current (AC) waveform by varying the instantaneous phase of the wave (Poole, 2008). The main advantage of phase modulation is static interference I less common. This is why unlike FM we can use phase modulation to determine speed. This comes in handy for radar guns and other motion detection devices. The major disadvantage of phase modulation is as we increase the phase modulation index, and data loss is more and we need special equipment like frequency multiplier for increasing the phase…

    Analog vs. Digital

AM/FM stations are transmitted and received through air waves in the analog form of radio. Analog, meaning continuously varying, represents a band of frequencies that are similar, yet different. For example, imagine a clock with a second hand that continuously moves clockwise, smoothly, without the familiar tic-toc sound. That clock represents an analog system. Digital radio, also known as satellite radio, is also transmitted and received through air waves. However, the audio sound is now represented digitally, meaning that instead of a continuous band of all different frequencies of air waves, each station is now accounted for numerically. This enables satellites to magnetically transmit audio data from one point to another, from one satellite receiver to the next.…

The integration activity was a learning experience. Learning simple ways to help the cause of our mother nature, and learning about the people you are with. For me, at first I only felt that it was a typical tree-planting activity. But seeing the situation the people there are in, and the thoughtfulness of the people for the help we could extend really moved me. We all have the duty to protect and preserve the world we are in, because we only borrowed it from God, who is the most powerful Creator. He created the world beautiful; He only introduced all the goodness He could give to make the world we are in a wonderful place. But what are most of the people doing? Nowadays, almost all of us don’t bother to look upon the alarming situation of our mother nature, she is steadily degrading. As for the people responsible for all the destruction? They really don’t care about the adverse effects of what they’re doing, they just think of their personal benefits. They really never have the thoughtfulness to God for bringing us the world as blessing; we can’t take away the fact that life difficulties may hinder our prior responsibilities on protecting our mother nature. But it is not reasonable to do bad things just to take away the personal difficulties, which in return could affect the lives of many, and take away the privilege of the future generation to see the beauty that God gave us. As for those who still have the concern to help the cause of our mother nature, it is quite a happy thing because there are some who sticks with the responsibilities they have. As for me, I will do my best to give the immediate and most effective way to ease the critical situation of our environment. Even just in this simple way, I could show God how thoughtful and privileged I am to live in the beautiful world he created. The integration program didn’t just bring out a sense of commitment in me, but it also helped me know about the people I am with. I’m pretty glad…
