Musculoskeletal System Essay
The musculoskeletal system facilitates the bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons needed for movement. The ligaments are attached to bones and muscles are attached to bones by tendons; both are very important when it comes to the movement of the body. The body needs more than a healthy diet to stay active it also needs exercise to keep the muscles in good health as well. Exercise has both short and long term effect on the skeletal system. The short term effect that exercise has is it increases the amount of synovial fluid that is produced by the synovial membrane within the joints. This fluid keeps the joints moving with fluidity and keeps the cartilage from drying out. The long term effect that exercise has on the body is increased range of motion and increased bone density. One of the simplest and most practical exercises we can do is walk. Walking at any age is ideal for the body because of its overall fitness. Walking is a cardiovascular exercise that strengthens the heart, lungs and helps tone the muscles of the body. Depending, on the level of walking weight loss might be achieved. However, muscle endurance and muscle strength in the lower extremities will be a benefit from walking daily. …show more content…
Me learning to sing a difficult song is another example, in the beginning, I might miss a couple of notes, but as I practice, it becomes much easier to sing the high notes. The body begins to remember with repetition, and little to effort is needed.

The response this exercise does to the body is increased blood supply for muscles to work for longer and harder when exercising, muscle pliability will also develop as regular muscles are being used and developed making them stronger overall. Increased respiratory rate, increased fuel metabolism, increased oxygen consumption and also increased muscle temperature these are some of the features that will take place over exercising for a short time. Additionally Increased levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide arise from muscles overloading resulting in the muscles being able to be pushed and worked at a higher intensity for longer.
