In the Minnesota Department of Education press release media disseminate information on the relinquishment of the No Child Left Behind law. In an effort to create an impartial monitoring system of school performance, and an innovative educational program a new accountable structure of school performance in four categories implemented Multiple Measurement Rating (MMR). This consists of four categories, proficiency, growth, progress in closing achievement gaps, and graduation rate.

The release is delivering capacious informative news to enlighten the audience of the implementation of Multiple Measurement Ratings, and its impartialness and accuracy in monitoring the performance of schools across the state of Minnesota. Moreover, persuasive in swaying the audience that relinquishing the No Child Left Behind law was impartial and allot punitive labels without concern for students. Therefore, implementing Multiple Measurement Ratings will improve student’s achievement with a new accountability …show more content…
Rewarding schools the highest performing 15% of Title I schools in the state of Minnesota, namely 128 schools in the category, focus school the top 10% of Title I. The biggest contribution to the state of Minnesota’s achievement gap, 85 schools received this designation. Priority schools five percent most-persistently low-performing Title I school in the state of Minnesota, 42 schools received this designation in this category.

    To any prospective parent, a school needs to present all the facts about itself, so as the parent may make the choice that is best for their child. Thirty years ago, when I was in school. There was no concern about scores, diversity, etc. You just went to your local elementary, middle and high school. Today parents are much more informed and curious about where their child is going to go. To some parents, it is quite important to have their children attend a culturally diverse school. “There is a richness that comes from students working side by side with others who are not of the same cookie-cutter mold,” notes Jean Snell.     Since the early 60’s varying attempts have been made to improve the education system of America. After the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law was passed in 2002, all students in public schools started to get tested and the results were used to measure the success of the school and district. “High-stakes testing, by its very definition, is the most extreme form of testing, for it results in the most direct, far-reaching set of consequences for the test taker. Thus, high-stakes testing bears great significance for human achievements, individual lives and educational practices alike ” (Ydesen, p, 98, 2014). A state-wide or national standardized test is usually used for this form of testing. Today the main purpose for high-stakes testing is to evaluate the schools, teachers, and students and to hold them accountable for the education being provided and learned.     Transparency, though necessary, often does not happen due to outside forces that keep a variety of situations from being exposed. Federal and state laws play a pivotal role in keeping different variables unexposed from staff and students. Regardless, the administrators give our staff freedom to make curriculum and classroom management decisions based on their own styles and the type of student they teach. Plus, on a whole, they treat each educator and support staff with great respect and are always looking for feedback in regards to campus activities. The district annually tracks the summative assessments taken at the end of each year and find the areas of strength and weakness. In return, each campus core team knows the target areas to sharpen. The only weakness on the survey in my minds revolves around the lack of incentive. As educators we learn our targets but are not motivated by immediate or external awards.
