Multiple Birth
A multiple birth is when the mother delivers two or more offspring. Since 1980 the multiple offspring birthrate has increased by over 75%. in general multiple births have more complications then a normal one offspring birth. Many new things come into play when the mother is carrying multiple children. Not only is it harder on the mothers body, but the babies are also sharing a space and nutrients. There are multiple short- term complications of multiple births like: pre-eclampsia, and diabetes. Both things are more common within a multiple birth pregnancy, however, they both can be controlled and normally will not alter the offspring in the long run.
