Muet Benefits of Being a Vegetarian
There are a lot of silly myths and jokes about being a vegetarian. One of it started like this, there’s a girl who is a vegetarian and one day when she and her friends passed by a tree, they asked her “hey! Here’s a tree looking good! Do you want to eat it? Or you need some salt and pepper as flavoring?” This is actually a common joke among vegetarian and this has become a trend among peoples nowadays. In my opinion, I believe that being a vegetarian bring a lot of benefits like benefits to our world, our health and also to prevent animal cruelty.
Being a vegetarian brings benefits to the world because raising farm animals is actually a wasteful of resources. There will be a lot of forest being cleared for farmer to raise animals and plants are planted as foods for animals instead for humans. In addition, more plants needed to support the food storage for both animals and humans. This is such a waste as there are a lot of children who are still starving across the world but foods are only planted for animals. Moreover, cattle and sheep produce a large quantity if methane gases that can caused greenhouse effect and then lead to global warming. Hence by being a vegetarian, we can actually decrease all these or even stop all these and lead to a better earth.
Do you know that being a vegetarian has a lot of benefits to our health? A vegetarian have lower rate of heart disease and also some type of cancers. This is because vegetarian consume a large quantity of vegetable and fruits which is more low calories than a meat eater. Besides, humans could not digest meat properly and isn’t a natural meat eater. Humans also can’t digest fats in animals completely. Moreover there is too many bacterial inside the meat we consume and if we consume too much, we may have colon cancer or kidney failure. Quite a numbered of people thought that vegetarian does not have a balanced diet as they did not consume meat but in fact a planned vegetarian diet are more nutrition and have more protein than a meat eater’s diet. Eventually, being a vegetarian not only helps us to prevent disease but also lead us to a more healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Animal’s cruelty can be prevented if more people support in being a vegetarian. This is because a lot of animals are forced to live just to provide food to humans and not because god created them. They are locked in cages where they are stuck with thousands of others and they don’t even have place to move around. Besides, they are sometimes forced to eat more than what they need and are given antibiotics and hormone injection too just to become fat and bigger. So when they reach a specific size, they are killed and slaughter through thousands of scary and painful ways. They had to endure a lot of pain before they arrived to someone plate. If there is less meat consumer, then there is less demand for animals to be harm. Lastly, I emphasize again that if more people support in being a vegetarian, more animals can be saved.
In conclusion, being a vegetarian definitely brings a lot of benefits to us, no matter to our world, our health or even to the animals. Even though it may be hard for beginner but never try, never know! If every day one person chose to become vegetarian, there will be less and less demand for animals being kill and the world will be better for us.

In Margaret Lundberg's short story "Eating green" she has a theory about the planet becoming a healthier place to live if everyone became a vegetarian, which I believe is true. Lundberg talks about her childhood and how right off the bat her mother had her eating healthy food and that pretty much stuck with her through out her whole life. "We had two vegetables with every meal, ate plain yogurt for breakfast, and excercised with jack LaLanne." If most families started off like that it would be easier for kids to enjoy eating healthier food now instead of them liking junk food. Most people do not realize that what they eat does effect the planet and how we live on a daily basis and how badly it effects our health.…

“If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian.” Paul McCartney stated in a video he made to motivate switching to vegetarianism. Like Paul McCartney, many people today are switching to a vegetarian or even vegan diet and with good reason. Environmentalists and scientists have shown, through extensive research, that meat industries are over-producing animal products, and in addition, are a major cause of environmental problems such as global warming and world hunger. Another good motive is the unimaginable cruelty these animals suffer, that represents torture one could never imagine for their own pets or peers. As importantly, being a vegetarian has numerous health benefits. Animal products contain bacteria and contaminants that have been shown to cause fatal illnesses. Cutting meat and animal by-products from your diet and adopting a vegan one is a healthy lifestyle choice because it can reduce a number of environmental impacts, it makes for a better ethical choice, and it can improve your personal health greatly.…

Firstly, becoming vegetarian will reduce deforestation/ land destruction. Our earth can only provide a certain amount of space, which is used by ocean, forest, mountains etc. These areas are home to many different kinds of species that live off of these areas. How much food we grow is not just limited by the amount of available land, but meat eaters need far more space than vegetarians. In the article in the Guardian stated that an average Bangladeshi lives off rice, beans, vegetables, and fruit may live on an acre of land or less, while the average American, who consumes around 270 pounds of meat a year, needs 20 times that. Huge amounts on land are being taken up for consumable animals to live. Nearly 40% of the earth's landmass is growing livestock and food for those animals. In the amazon nearly 80% of the land is being destroyed to be used as cattle pasture. 46-58 thousand square miles of forest are lost each year all around the world due to the meat industry, which is equivalent to 48 football fields every minute stated from the WWF. Therefore, becoming…

One advantage that cannot be disputed is that vegetarian’s conscience can be at peace in the sense that he does not cause the death of animals grown for meat and fat such as rabbits, poultry or pigs. This idea alone persuades many people, especially women to start embracing vegetarianism as their way of life. Another undisputable advantage of vegetarianism is that long-term vegetarians are rarely overweight thus people can make losing weight easier by becoming vegetarians. Of course, they will still need to compose their diet very carefully since many of the high-calorie (with low nutritional value) foods contain no meat at all. Actually, meat is not high on calories unless it is a fatty meat. Less clear and more arguable is the claim that vegetarianism is healthier and better for one’s longevity. All advocates of vegetarianism play this card and support their claims with many arguments. The basic idea is that our body can get everything it needs from plants or animal by-products such as eggs or milk. Of course, there are extreme groups who refuse to eat animal by-products, but I’ll stick with the less extreme idea. Anyway, this is true, at least as long as you eat fish – some people who consider themselves vegetarians eat fish, some don’t. Anyway, no one can say with absolute certainty (you can believe it, but cannot prove it indisputably) that avoiding all meat is beneficial for human body. However, it is certain that limiting certain types of meat is good for us. And vegetarians benefit from avoiding those kinds of meat (after all they do not eat any meat).…
