Mr Bennett Biography
When I was five years old, I believed that it was God’s fate that I become F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and Shakespeare in one person, except female and hopefully better looking; unfortunately, my writing style has yet to live up with those of the greats, so I am currently left with my femininity and outward appearance. My love of the English language has always resided in my heart and will perhaps hold a spot until the end of my days. I believe my love of the language stems from my interest in the meaning of words and the soothing flow of a well written sentence. In truth, my earliest fond memories in school are intertwined with reading. Bennett. Mrs. Bennett urged the class to go above and beyond and to please Mrs. Bennett was a thing that only happened once in a lifetime. After having her proofread an essay she had assigned, she commended me for my topic, word choice, and use of grammar. “Promise me you’ll write after school,” she had told me. Once those words were uttered out of her mouth my smile would not falter. I began imagining myself as the next Truman Capote and Hunter S. Thompson in a new city writing for a big newspaper. I knew at that time that I did not wish to pursue a career in journalism or writing, but I did believe I had just done the impossible, obtain a compliment from Mrs. Bennett. Besides Mrs. Bennett, I do not believe anyone else has inspired me to write. However, I do have memory of fond assignments given to me in the past, for example: an argumentative essay backed by facts, an analysis of the Communist Manifesto, and a current events essay. In my free time, I enjoy reading and doing an in-depth dissection of books to hopefully understand the thinking of others
