The movie Forrest Gump helps identify me as a writer because I have a positive attitude and find inspiration in various places. Like Forrest, I try to make the best out of every situation that I am in. Forrest Gump, played by Tom Hanks, grew up in the small town of Greenbow, Alabama. Forrest was someone who was never given a chance and rarely accepted into society. He shows how to rise above and beyond what people expect of you.

By comparing and analyzing my writing to the movie Forrest Gump. I have found the main character Forrest and I have many similar traits. The First trait that we both possess is integrity. In my writing I try to show as much integrity as I possibly can. I show this by being honest and by having strong moral principles. Through out the movie Forrest shows this same quality, for example, when his best friend Bubba dies in the war. Forrest carries out Bubba’s wish and opens up Bubba Gump Shrimp, after he is released from the army.

Another thing we both have in common is our compassion. Forrest had a unconditional compassion for so many things. Weather it was his unconditional love for Jenny or his love for ping-pong, he approaches everything with a deep compassion. When I am writing I first try and find out what it is in the assignment I am able to be passionate about. Having compassion when writing is very important, I think it makes me think more deeper into the topic.

The next trait we have in common is that we both have patience. Forrest would show patience when it came to learning. He often struggled at times but he always tried his best to understand. Like Forrest I also have patience, I attempt to approach each assignment with a open mind and am patient

This movie was chosen because it was viewed as a proper representation of the power of influence. It shows how large of a role influence can play specifically during times of adversity. This movie also shows one’s strive to fit in and how the opinion of others can determine how one lives their life. As displayed in the movie, many often lose themselves when striving to fit in and/or be perfect. For some reason, Skeeter decided to shy away from the domestic aspect of her advice column and direct her focus to “the help” themselves. She was curious to know why a difference in skin…

In the book Forrest Gump does everything that happened in the movie plus a few additional things. Gump in both stories plays college football, becomes an incredible war hero, starts a huge shrimp company, and plays ping-pong for the United States Army against China, but in the novel he also becomes an astronaut who gets stranded on a cannibal island, a champion chess player, and a professional wrestler given the name “The Dunce”. These events just take the book way to far from reality. He meets Jenny as a childhood friend and falls in love with her hoping that one day they could be together. He loves his Mom who was always very supportive of him as a child, and cares deeply about his two friends Lt. Dan and Bubba. His Dad is gone from the story in both cases. “My daddy, he got kilt just…

Many qualities have to come together in one person to make his or her writing great, so having the idea for a story alone is not enough; great writers also have to possess talent and originality as well as the dedication required to see a story through to the end.…

He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. In the movie “Bernie”, we follow the story and between a Carthage, Texas funeral director Bernie Tiede, and his co-dependent relationship with a wealthy widow, Marjorie Nugent. As “Bernie” unfolds, we see the companionship turn for the worse as Ms. Nugent’s ill-temper causes Bernie to snap – and lands her dead in her freezer. This movie brings up some questions, specifically regarding image. After analysis, the question I keep coming back to is “Was Bernie genuine and sincere? Or was it all a façade?” Although Bernie committed a horrible crime, I believe the answer to this question is “yes”- Bernie was a genuine man.…
