Movie Analysis: Thelma And Louise
1. My mom loves showing me her old, favorite movies from her teenage days and the one she picked out for me recently was Thelma and Louise. This movie is jam-packed with violence as the two leading women go on an escapade to Mexico together in hopes of escaping their boring lives. In the beginning of the movie, there was sexual violence between Thelma and a man she met at a bar that they stopped at. He attempted to rape her, but Louise shot him before he got the chance. Later, it is implied that Louise was raped in Texas before the movie plot began. The rest of the movie consists of the two women running from police and committing crimes while on their escape to Mexico. After watching the movie, I found myself most angry at the rape scene.
