Motivation Reflection

Previous Leisure Activity Report Growing up, I spent most of my leisure and play time with my sister who I was birthed two years away from and my older cousin which is 3 years apart from me. I also had a group of friends around the neighborhood who I played with either outside our houses, on the inside of in one of our backyards. Those friends were the ones I grew up with half my child and teenage hood because I lived at that house for so long, we ended up bonding like sisters. Most of my childhood play time with my sister and cousin consisted of playing Barbie’s inside and around the house or playing tag and board games. Not only that though, we also had bikes and skates for our physical time of playing which we used to ride up and down the streets. I had lots of free time afterschool from pre-school, elementary, and middle school to just come home and relax which was play with my sister and cousin. With neighborhood friends, we would play with dolls, paint our nails, and do our hair in our free time of play. I would also just come home and go outside to play with them since I had so much free time on my hands afterwards. I was given to play freely most of my childhood with my sister, cousins and neighborhood friends. The real meaning of play in my life when I was younger was just to have fun no matter what and enjoy being a kid while I can because people always told me when I grow up and be older, I am going to wish I was a kid again. I can say I had a great experience growing up with my family and friends because we would always be into something fun such as going to adventure parks, parks, and to the beach. Those moments were the most fun of my childhood. Everything would make me happy and laugh and I think it is just because of the person I was back then and that I have grown to be. I just learned to enjoy life and what comes with it because I cannot have everything I want. On the other hand, my grandmother explained to me that free time back in her days was all about having fun and no work. She was granted a lot of leisure time, and with that, her and her friends spent most times riding bikes, skating, going to the movies and to church. Play time in her definition is just to be happy with what you have, have a fun time and be comfortable with it.
