For the second example, I suggest to choose two different cartoons from the US and Soviet Union. Sarah Boxer in her essay “Why are all the cartoon mothers dead?” shows many cartoons where mother was dead either gone or useless. I took Finding Nemo (Disney/Pixar, 2003). Before the title sequence, Nemo’s mother, is eaten by a barracuda, so Nemo’s father, has to raise their kid alone. He starts out as an overprotective, humorless wreck and he faces down everything – whales, sharks’ currents. Thus father not only replace the dead mother but becomes the dependable yet adventurous parent Nemo always wanted. Dad’s magic depends on Mom’s death. The dead mother is replaced not by an evil stepmother but by a good father. Quite simply, mothers are killed…

It is more challenging to be a parent than it is to be a child. This is represented throughout the short stories, “Penny in the Dust”, and, “The Leaving.” Both of these stories show how being a parent can be hard, the job of motherhood, and trying to mend broken relationships within the family, back together. The characters in these stories go through hard times; trying to connect with their family members that they may have an ongoing trial of miscommunication with. Parents will always have a couple of bumps along the way in their parenting, and most-likely experience rough patches with the relationships in the family.…

Through a number of scenes, this term is stressed by majority of the mothers. An example of this is the scene in which Eliza takes her son out to the park and is seated when a friend comes over with her son to sit by her. After a few minutes, her friend 's son begins to cry and his mom start to cry with him almost instantly. Eliza is confused by this occurrence and asks the reason for her doing so, she replies by saying she read a book once written by a pediatrician, and he came up with a theory that :if you really connect with your child in a moment of pain, it calms them down". As written by Barbara Mitchell (2009), mothers in earlier centuries tended to focus more on children 's physical health, but as economic conditions became favourable, child-rearing literature "began to focus more on the social context of mother-child relationships and its role in psychological health" (151). She quotes Wall and states that there has been a wider expansion of educational material targeted at parents that stresses the importance of secure attachment.…

A good mother is one of the few prized people in our lives. We depend on them from the start of our existence and latch on to them as they become a part of us. They influence our first words, tastes in food, and tastes music. They teach us girls how to use make-up properly and shop for the deals. A mother isn’t always the being who gave us life, but could be the one who proves herself a role model on how to live. A maternal presence can be made up of many women filling the gaps of a dead or absentee birth mother. We saw an ideal example of this very definition of a maternal presence in action in Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. The narrator Scout lost her mother long before she was old enough to feel her absence. In spite of this tragedy Scout had not one, not two, but three wonderful women step up and influence her childhood in a feminine way. Despite the fact that her mother is dead Scout receives the love, support, and nurturing she needs to become an independent young woman.…

Nothing can come close to the love that a mother showers her children with. That is one important relationship which makes me who I am today. I can proudly say that most women are excellent mothers. They carry their young before they are born and continue to nurture them throughout their childhood and even into adulthood. Mothers also make sure that their children are safe and happy throughout their growing stage. It is the unconditional love that a mother feels that drives these feelings. Raising children comes with many frustrations, from the needy new born baby that requires regular care to the sullen teenager. A mother’s role is really commendable as they always put their children before anything else, including their…
