Most Influential Parenting Style
The most influential parenting style in my development was authoritative parenting. Parents that are authoritative are strict but loving. They are supportive but demand for a mature behavior. Growing up my parents were strict even with what my brother and I ate. We were not given soda, orange juice, or anything real sweet just once in a while. We mostly drank water or milk and when it came to food we did not get much junk food only occasionally. It definitely helps me now as a grown up, but back then I thought it was horrible I was not able to have all the goodies my friends had. Today I do not really drink anything other than water and coffee and I’ll have an occasional soda. My parents also always demanded for good grades which I always had
