Moses Hembling Research Paper

Moses Hembling was a young, eleven year old boy, who lived in the city of Salem, Massachusetts. He was born in August 22, 1947. He lived with his mom, dad and his two sisters. His father, John, is a blacksmith and the money he makes provides for his family. However, Moses hardly ever sees his dad. His mother, Ellen, on the other hand, is always around doing work around the house with Moses and his sisters help. Moses was know to be the smart one around the house for he was able to cite a number of Bible verses at a young age, age 5 to be exact.his little sister, Bela, always admired him for that and for him being the big brother, he teacher everything he knows. Annabelle on the other hand, was concerned what the other girls was doing,they were all pleading to Tituba to grant their wish for the boys they admire to love them. Then Tituba grabbed her by the hand and told her to not be afraid, and join then. At that moment, Tituba forced Annabelle to drink what was in the pot and fainted right after. Several days later, Moses’s prayers payed off, Annabelle fully recovered from her trauma and the whole family were really relieved of the news. A week later, a visitor named John Hale came to the Hembling home to question Annabelle, knowing she was sworn to secrecy, he claimed that all the girls danced and that was all. Moses quickly caught on and knew she was lying, in spite of that he kept his mouth shut. As soon as John Hale left, Moses wanted to talk to his sister about what happened in the woods, all that Annabelle said to him was that “the girls were doing what they thought could bring them happiness but in reality they are only giving themselves to the devil”.
