moral values
It would be gross injustice to categorize all children and youths as lacking in manners and morals, but the general trend would certainly suggest there has been a major decline among many of them.
Family values have changed dramatically in the past few decades, producing a crop of undisciplined teenagers and children who lack morals and manners as a result of poor training.
Good manners were once the norm with young people very much aware the older generation. Saying "please" and "thank you", giving up a seat on the bus and holding open doors were all considered normal mannerly behavior.
Times have changed and we now live in a predominantly me-first society which is reflected in many young people. If good manners are taught at an early age, they will generally continue to be part of the personality of the young child all the way into adulthood.
The lack of good manners observed in society in general is no doubt a reflection of the situation found within the home. Without parental example and training the area of manners, it is likely the children will sadly lack in displaying them.
The same can be said of the lack of morals we find in many of today's youth. A large proportion of children have grown up with little or no respect for authority, for property, for family or even themselves.
Living a life of immorality is considered normal behavior today and has produced a bumper crop of young people with venereal disease, unwanted pregnancies and a feeling of emptiness in their lives.
Lacking in moral stability, we find young people involved in crime, violence and drug abuse. The so-called freedom they have has actually brought them into slavery to an amoral lifestyle.
There is a contrast though in many children and teenagers who are moral and do have good manners, proving that it is still possible to develop these delightful characteristics.
It is a real pleasure to come across young people who are mannerly and who have the courage to lead a moral life, not...

As far back as I can remember, she always had my sister and I say please and thank you, hold doors open for people, look them in the eyes while shaking hands, and stand up to greet people if you were previously sitting down. All of these have become second nature to me, and I don't even hesitate to perform them, since she has repeatedly showed me these social skills since I was a child. Nowadays, I am often complemented by my bosses, co-workers, and even peers on my etiquette and manners, something that seems to be a dwindling trait in young adults my age. All of which, I attribute to my mother as I was being raised, and even her constantly reminding me to patient and show respect to this…

    Rudeness in America

Will Americas parents ever teach their kids some manners or will the rudeness continue into the next generations. Although there are parents that instill good manners in their children there are also not enough who do so. The children might get the bad manners from viewing how their parents behave with other adults. Encountering adults on a daily basis I noticed that adults can be just as rude as the children can be. Standing outside a shop looking through a store window there was a women walking and talking on her cell phone and she walked right into me. Not even turning around she kept on walking and just gave me a nasty look.…

    Child Behavior

Almost everyone in the general public has studied the change in child behavior today compared to their childhood years. Our generation may not be the best, but there has almost never been a time in history where the adolescents haven’t gotten a bad feedback. Some elder people don’t give children our age group a chance because they feel that we are all the same. They simple assume that we are going to be rude; this disregard is what causes children to act so disrespectful toward their elders. This is maybe the biggest port of call when attempting to lay blame, there is a real trend emerging that good parenting of our children has lost its way. There are of course hundreds more theories out there as to why each generation is getting worse than the one before.…

According to the article "Is There Anything Wrong With This Picture" by Lauren Tashis and Kristian Lewis is seems to be that because of phones and other technology, people are more rude than they were in the past. After reading over this article and looking at all the evidence I determined that having good manners benefits everyone. First of all, people with good manner tend to be more successful. For instance, in this article the author states that "Studies show that teens with good manners are more likely to be successful: they get better grades, and are more impressive in job interviews. This shows that having good manners can help you get good grades and even secure you a job. Another great piece of evidence to support my claim is that…

The issue of juvenile delinquency is one of major concerns to schools and society as a whole. There has been an increase of juvenile delinquents in today’s society, ranging from school violence, to gangs. Juvenile crime has increased in numbers and severity and there is no doubt that various experts can give us many theories as to the causes of it; individual backgrounds, peer groups, drug use, etc. I feel however, that the number one cause of juvenile delinquency is the breakdown of family life, including lack of supervision and parental involvement in children’s lives. It happens all too often that children are left to their own devices as parents leave the home to work, or are just too involved in their personal lives to take interest in what’s going on in the lives of their children.…

Do you think manners have changed over time? I believe manners have made a drastic change over the years. What has caused these changes? Well, there a couple things that have caused these changes. One of those being, that people are so engaged in technology that they do not pay as much attention to what is going on around them in the real world. Another cause being, humane egoism. People are too worried about themselves too focused on their technology that they do not think twice about the use of good manners. The use of good manners has made a huge turn over the years; as people are becoming too self-absorbed from the distraction of…

Firstly I fell one of the most important things to teach a person is manners, especially to children. I feel by using manners not only does it show a child that you yourself are polite and professional, it also sets up a guideline for how they should talk to other people and teaches them the importance of manners. An example of my using this in practice is when I always ensure that I say please and thank you when asking a child do complete a task.…
