Moon Peak (4610 mt) situated on the Dhauladhar mountain range in western Himalayas. It is one of the most beautiful peaks of Dhauladhar mountain range can be attempted through a ridge on the right side of the Laka glacier straightway to the top. The other possibility to scale Moon Peak is to climb the Indrahara Pass (4350 m) and then traverse a ridge on the other side of the pass and approach the peak in most easy way. This route is safe and easier one. The winter ascent to the peak requires a good technical knowledge and one must have proper climbing gears. But during post monsoon(Sep to October) one can easily do this expedition without much of technical support but we will still have to carry few ropes, ascender, carabiners, etc.

Objective: The objective of this experiment was to find out why the moon “shrinks” as it goes from its rising point on the horizon to its highest point in the night sky. The way I decided to test this was by standing in the same spot periodically throughout the night and had a ruler in my hand. I fully extended my arm so that I knew it was in the same spot in relation to my line of sight and then proceeded to measure the moon. I began my observations as the moon rose in the sky and after every hour I would return to the same spot to observe. If my observations are correct, it should prove my hypothesis to be true.…

I sat there in disbelief, I couldn’t believe my new teacher was forcing me hike a trail and then write a essay about it. But I had to, so I decided to hike the Indian Hill trail, besides I had heard positive reviews about this trail by my friends. The leaves were just turning hues of gold and yellow, I stepped out of the car and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t freezing cold My mom yelled after me, ‘’Be safe.’’ I ignored her. So I started to hike up the trail it was nice, I usually hiked in the Adirondacks so this was a pleasant change. Hardwoods are different than hiking in the pine forest of the mountains, for one thing on this trail there was only a slight incline where as in the mountains the trails…

We as a team will be investigating the effects global warming is having on the Antarctic landscape, we will also look at the effects that the change in the Antarctic landscape is having on other factors such as the dispersion of animals. To look at the change we will look at the rate of contraction of the land, the rate of ice break up, the rate of which a lake is created, the flow rate of Moulins, the rate of sea level increase. As well as this we will try to determine how the reduction of white land mass will further global warming and at what rate. This will be hard to do but one of the many techniques we will employ will be to take ice cores. We will stay in Antarctica for 1 year so we can experience the effects of global warming over the different seasons we will then return to Antarctica in 5 years and study the change in data.…

After hoping the fence to get to the trail to begin the ridged hike, birds chirped and you could occasionally hear a branch break deep in the woods. Walking up the narrow hill through the deep forest was my favorite thing in the world. I felt free and had no worry in the world. And the view at the top of the mountain was even better. The beginning of the hike for probably a mile is a very calm and nice walk, but it starts to incline more and more from their. The trail opens up to huge clear cuts. through one of the clear cuts is a perfect view of Enumclaw. as you pass the clear cuts the trail begins to narrow again. In the movie retelling the story of Apollo 13, there were many instances where gravity and its properties were relevant. The five main topics I have chosen I feel are the easiest to explain and understand. The first is the requirements of liftoff and how the astronauts will experience g forces. Next is coming into earth and how they will have to calculate the angle and speed at which they will have to re-enter at. Third I talk about the simulator and how it prepares them for conditions in outer space. Fourth I talk about the Orange drink floating around in the space craft and why that happens. Finally, I talk about the explosion and how it affects the astronauts for the rest of their voyage.…

Mt. Namcha Barwa is identified to be located in the southeast of Tibet Autonomous Region with its elevation of 7,788 meters above sea level. It’s one of the world’s unconquered mountains to its height above 7,500 meters and at the same time, it’s also the highest peak in the eastern part of the Himalayas. Locally, people regard this Mt. Namcha Barwa as a “shy girl” as the apex of the mountain is sometimes seen to peek out from the mist. Furthermore, its peak is always capped with a transparent and whitish ice and snow, making it hard to view when it’s engulfed by the rage of “harsh” fog. Between Mt. Namcha Barwa and Mt. Naipeng, there sit three huge valley glaciers to the south that drain down to the greenery forest.…
