Montresor In The Cask Of Amontillado
In "The Cask of Amontillado" the character, Montresor is established as an unreliable narrator. Montresor is clearly mentally unstable and cannot be trusted. Likewise, there is no valid form of evidence that the character, Fortunato insulted or harmed him in any way; the story provides no details. In fact, being the aristicat he is, Montresor self-esteem was probaly damage if at most. Also, since Montresor is telling the story from such a long time ago, the events may not be remembered very well or some even forgetten. Montresor is unreliable maily because he does not give much information, his story lacks deatail, and his anger toward Fortunato most likely clouds his
