Montessori Method
1. The purpose of this manual is to guide and provide resourceful information and accompanying you to build on education and training you have already received in childcare and child development and introduce you to some of the basics of using the Montessori approach to caring for children under three. 2. An introduction is a quick guide to Montessori teaching and structure. It provides information, raising issues and sharing ideas regarding Montessori Approach, Children’s growth and development and by putting Montessori method into practice. 3. Dr. Maria Montessori’s early years had a great influence and did impact her life as an adult. It did help her to overcome so many obstacles in her early years. Maria Montessori had the fondness to aspire to learn and pursue different subjects at school that most young women of that time would not pursue. Her interest to attend technical school as well as Medical school did not find favor with her father, who believed that education of females should be restricted to certain subjects. Positive reinforcement from her mother and constant disapproval from her father have fostered Maria Montessori the will to overcome so many obstacles. She worked hard in order to get what she aimed for. 4. Maria Montessori became interested in studying engineering after she graduated in technical school in which disapproved by her father. 5. The challenges that Montessori encountered: to participate in dissection, male students found many ways to show their disapproval of her presence. Maria Montessori perseverance and abilities won over her classmates and professors and gained her the respect and successes. She was awarded for her work in pathology and won an assistant position in the university hospital. She delivered a lecture which she received a standing ovation and congratulatory greetings. Maria Montessori graduated as a top of the class as a specialist in surgery. She is the first woman to receive a medical degree and
