Monica was born in 331 and died in 387. She was also known as Monica of Hippo.She was an early Christian saint and the mother of St.Augustine of Hippo.
She was born in a Christian family. But her parents were betrothed to a man who named Patricius Herculus. He was a Pagan and lived in the same place with Monica. He was much older than her. Patricius was temper and easy to get angry. He still continued his dissolute life after marriage. In addition, Monica needed to live with Patricius’s mother who was cool toward her.
