money is a good servant but a bad master
Good deeds last forever so increase your good deeds. Day after day, and with the running of hours and the rusting of heart, you may fail to understand how your deeds will be rewarded exactly and what they will look like. Be assured that every ounce you perform now, whether in secret or in public, are deeds Allah will reward generously for. Not even one atom worth will be deducted as Allah is most-thankful to those who do good. Allah says, “Indeed, Allah does not do injustice, [even] as much as an atom’s weight; while if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward” [3:40]. Therefore, every deed you’ve done in the past, which is a distant memory now, but Allah never forgets, “And whatever good you do – Allah knows it” [2:197]. Remember always that nothing will be lost with Allah. He sees your hardship and your struggles so seek the reward and speed up to perform good deeds! Surmount all your inner and social struggles, and march forth. Allah says, “Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - indeed, We will not allow to be lost the reward of any who did well in deeds.” [18:30]

Humility is the foundation of all virtues.
As we have discussed in the past, Humility is the tough one. In fact the title of this open letter: "Humility is the Solid Foundation of all Virtues" is a quote by Confucius that reminds me of the difficulty that a lack of humility has caused me in my life.
Although a lack of humility often takes many forms, it has always manifested within me a degree of arrogance and self-importance which proscribed a sober perspective of self worth and actually masked qualities such as kindness, understanding and loyalty which I was wanting to depict.
Do not mistake humility (described by Aristotle as a meta-virtue) with timidity, self-abasement or self-denigration. It is a degree of self confidence that discounts the need to preach your own resume, allowing

Nurture can affect one individual success because depending on what enviroment you grow up in you will either have a lot of privialge or be not as privalaged. In “ Money Changes the Way we Think and Behave” author Caolyn Gregoire explains how when you are raised with more money you are less empathetic to others: “ Several Studies have shown that wealth may be at odds with empathy and comassion”( Gregoire, 6). The text portrays the idea that the wealthy people dont feel for the lower class. This supports the theory that external factors play a vital role in a persons fututre because wealthy grow up with so much money they can symppathize eiht the less fortunate. Arrogance is one of seven basic character flaws or “dark” personality traits. Mortals have the potential for arrogant tendencies but in people, such as Odysseus, with a strong fear of showing ordinary vulnerability, arrogance can become a dominant pattern, , which is a crucial point during his leading a group. Instead of supporting, inspiring and motivating his men, Odysseus did the exactly opposite thing, he showed his arrogance when he blamed the situation solely on his men, calling them mutinous…

As we were told when we were young children, too much of a good thing is not a good thing. The same phrase can apply to aspects in lives now. Literature shows how pride can be a good thing, but too much of it is not. In fact, the opposite of pride, humility, is an extremely important value. The Bible and Edith Hamilton’s Mythology both show how a lack of the value humility will result in consequence through characterization and plot.…

A new perspective that goes along with the Desiderata “Never compare yourself to others, you may grow vain for there will always be greater and lesser persons than yourself.” Our society has been so accustomed to generalize people. If you are a wealthy church Friar, you considered a humble man of God. In most cases, hopefully, it is true, but for some, corruptness and greed seem to be the right way to live a life. In this world, we will always have to take the bad with the good and the good with the bad, and society must learn how to embrace that…

Humility takes an honest recognition of your worth as God sees you and recognizing your faults and knowing God loves and values us is so important to our well being. Doesn't this promote a healthy view of us? Pride is wrong because it elevates you above others, and often above God. Humility doesn’t always come naturally for some people. There are people who are stubborn nature and were brought up very confident and elevating themselves due to experiences and upbringing. I believe the reason why they fell like this is because they are suffering inside with jealousy, insecurity and are a result of their "ego" or self or pride, sense of entitlement, or the desire to be the "best" at whatever. People need to be humble sometimes so they can be in place where their life is better. I think that humility comes first than honor. What matters if you have honor if you don’t have humility you can’t go through life and stepping all over people because when you get older and have kids they would do that to you. We live in a society that is like a chain reaction if you do something other people follow but we need to break that mold and make this a better place to live. There are people walking who don’t care if they hurt people because they were never thought the meaning of humility. I consider myself as a humble person, I am the kind of person that if hit in one cheek would put the other cheek, like they say is better that there is one crazy person that two. I don’t like people who are like that. For example, I have an aunt that is good economically stable and when one of her sisters husband died she provided some stuff for the funeral and gave my aunt some money, she had her pride very high and was telling everyone what she had done. When I heard I had this feeling inside of me that I can’t explain, I hated the fact that she was telling everyone, you don’t have to tell anyone what you did; you should keep it to yourself and be humble. Sometimes I think she…

Arrogance is the assumption that ones self-worth is far superior to others. It is often referred to as hubris in Ancient Greek literature and is perhaps the worst of tragic flaws to posses as seen in William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. While the conspirators claim that it was Caesar’s ambition that lead to his undoing, it is Caesar’s arrogance that ultimately leads to his demise, betrayal by those closest to him.…

People with humility, like Brutus, often turn out to be great leaders. It is important for a leader to be humble and to realize that they are not superior to everyone else. If a person is humble, he is more likely to pay attention to the needs and ideas of others, therefore making him a great leader. For example, Brutus is widely respected throughout Rome, but he is not aware of how much the people love him. While talking to Brutus, Cassius says, "That you have no such mirrors as will turn your hidden worthiness into your eye," (I.ii.56-57). In this quote, Cassius is saying that Brutus can not see what everyone else does, which is the fact the Brutus is so widely respected. Because Brutus is so humble, he will always do the best he can for the people of Rome, making him a terrific leader. Brutus' humility plays into his ability to listen well to others, which is another characteristic that proves Brutus' great leadership abilities.…

Virtue is the key to a meaningful and happy life. According to ancient philosophers, Socrates and Aristotle, developing virtue is vital in order to lead a successful, fulfilling life. Though both men differ in their interpretations of a "good life," they both agree that the supreme life is one of virtuous meaning. Each of the philosophers have devised and implemented their own definitions and guidelines to acquire and practice a virtuous disposition. While it is agreed that knowledge and practice are the key to virtuosity, the philosophers disagree on fundamental rules to follow. The inherent question to be explored concerns the idea of virtue; what is it and how does one acquire it? The answer is anything but simple, but a blend of both philosophies can shed light on the two men 's view on practicing a virtuous life. Socrates and Aristotle believe in distinct ends to a common mean.…
