Mobile System Paper
Mobile applications was one of the most intriguing and intelligent things that could have been invented or designed. Mobile applications is software that is designed and made to run on cellular phones such as smartphones, Androids, iPhones, Windows phones, Blackberry phones and phones of that sort. Mobile applications are not only designed and engineered just for phones, they are also designed for tablet computers and anything that is a mobile device.

Mobile applications started back in 2007 when Apple released a new phone called the iPhone and when they put this new phone on the market they not only made a cellphone that made all other phones look small, but they also designed an operating system that specifically designed to support and run third party applications. This allowed there to be thousands and thousands of different applications, from food applications to video applications, dieting applications, bank applications and so many applications that there are applications for almost everything a person can think of.

Bank Applications
An application that stands out to me the most would be a bank application. Almost every bank has an application that is specifically designed for their customers to be able to use on an everyday basis. Bank applications are designed to allow people or customers of that bank to be able to login into their account without being on a computer and let that person check and keep track of their checking account, savings account and many different things that are available to use. One of the bank applications that stand out the most would be the Bank of America applications. There are so things you can do with this application. Bank of America application is not only just for just checking your accounts but it also allows you too many other things. When you first pull up the application it asks for your username and what state your bank is located, then after you have entered that information it goes to a site key. A site key is where it puts a picture of whatever choice you picked out when you signed up with bank, and if your picture that you chose is on that page then you put in your password to complete your login. Bank of America makes this site key to add extra security because if the picture that you have chosen does not pull up on the site key, then you know that you are on a fraudulent login or page. Once you have login you will see your accounts or account, and your account balance. There are a lot of changes that Bank of America application has made; there is even an option to go paperless so that you will not receive the paper billing statement in the mail. Now above your account info you have an option to use a Bill pay option. This allows you to have your bills paid automatic drafting the money out of your account on a certain day even once you have set it up or sign up for the Bill pay option. Also, for people that have more than one bank there is an option to transfer money to another bank under your name, or you can transfer money to another checking or savings account with the same bank. The transfer option also allows you to transfer to another person so you will not have to worry about going to a Western Union and spending extra money to send someone money or meeting someone in person to give them money. It saves you time and money just with a click of a button. A popular option also on this mobile bank application is the ability to take a picture of a check with your mobile phone and you deposit that money off that check just with a picture taken from you mobile device, just like that.

I think there will be more future enhancements, maybe even voice deposits or voice activation for your account. The sky is the limit, and with the technology that we have now mobile banking applications and mobile applications period, will only grow and succeed far more then we can expect or even imagine in the near future!

Today 's modern smart phones use a variety of applications in order to better the end user 's experience and allow them to perform a variety of tasks. According to Lionbridge, “Mobile applications come in two distinct formats: native apps and web apps. Due to differences in their underlying technology, each approach has inherent advantages and drawbacks” (Lionbridge, N.D., p 2). A mobile web application is typically formatted for smart phones or tablets, is accessed thorough the phone 's web browser, is intended to be platform or device independent, and typically uses three core technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. A native mobile application is normally built for specific phones or operating systems, is normally downloaded from a web store and installed on a device, is normally written in Java or another programming language, and can utilize device-specific hardware and software. (Lionbridge, N.D.). No matter which of these types of applications is used, the goal is still to offer end users access to the different applications over a wide variety of platforms and even different phone or network types such as CDMA and GSM.…

“A mobile application, most commonly referred to as an app, is a type of application software designed to run on a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet computer. Mobile applications frequently serve to provide users with similar services to those accessed on PCs. Apps are generally small, individual software units with limited function. Mobile applications are a move away from the integrated software systems generally found on PCs. Instead, each app provides limited and isolated functionality such as a game, calculator or mobile Web browsing. Although applications may have avoided multitasking because of the limited hardware resources of the early mobile devices, their specificity is now part of their desirability because they allow consumers to hand-pick what their devices are able to do.” (Techopedia, N.D.)…
