Mitigation Strategies and Solutions - Energy Conservation Solutions
Mitigation Strategies and Solutions Final Project:

Energy conservation is a process that every one in the world should be aware of not just for the rising cost of energy that is used by the consumer, but also the destruction that it can stop on the earths resources. Energy conservation is the reducing or eliminating of unnecessary energy use and waste by decreasing the quantity of energy used for achieving the same outcome. There are many tools that can be used for energy conservation

Focus on a specific environmental problem using one of the categories listed below as a starting point. After reading and reflecting on the category you chose, narrow your focus to a particular problem within that category. For example, if you chose “water pollution” as your category, you could narrow your focus to “water pollution in Lake Erie” or “water pollution caused by fertilizer runoff in the state of Nebraska”:

Write a 1,750- to 2,100-word paper that formulates a mitigation plan for your specific environmental problem. Include the following:
- A detailed description of the problem
- Nonliving and living factors that contribute to or are affected by the problem
- Positive or negative human impacts
- Evaluation of current sustainability strategies and solutions
- Your plan to reach sustainability (See Appendix F)
- Benefits and challenges of your plan
- Explanation of required government, societal, and global support (if needed)

Create a plan by using Appendix F as a guide for formatting. Your plan must be more detailed and specific than the sample presented in Appendix F. Your plan needs to include specific technological and legislative solutions for solving the problem. A plan that centers around “creating awareness,” “educating the community,” etc. is not acceptable.
If you include steps about making flyers or giving a presentation, you also need to describe what specific factual information will be included in the presentation or flyers.

    Climate Change Mitigation

The most cost effective and practical way to mitigate climate change is through conservation of energy. Energy conservation encompasses using less energy, for example through behavioural change and using energy efficient innovations and designs. Energy conservation focuses on reducing our dependence on fossil fuels thus lowering the amount of carbon emissions generated by human activities. Unlike the other mitigation methods, energy conservation usually does not require huge investment cost and in the long run can also bring about cost savings to both the individuals and organisations. For instance, by switching from using CFLs to LED lights, one can experience a 100% annual cost savings as the annual operating cost of CFLs is twice that of the annual operating cost of LED lights (Design Recycle Inc, 2011). Energy conservation is also the most practical way for us to fight against climate change because it enables us to reduce our resource inputs to the economy, thus, it ensures that the non-renewable resources available will be able to support human activities for a longer period of time. Despite being the most cost-effective and practical way for climate change mitigation, it is definitely not an easy task…

Short words free sample essay on pollution In recent years the problem of pollution has become very acute. It is the industrialized west which takes it seriously, because it is suffering from its injurious effects. In India, sufficient attention has not been paid to it so far. If we do not tackle this problem now, future generations will suffer from the harmful effects of pollution. This problem assumes different forms such as Air pollution, Water pollution, Soil pollution, Noise pollution and Paper pollution. All this pollution results from the greed of man for getting more and more money. Trees have been cut down, on an unprecedented scale and large production by industrialization has assumed gigantic proportions. So the main cause of air and water pollution is unbalanced industrial growth and urbanization and deforestation. The owners of industries dump waste material on the surface of the earth or in rivers. So, water is polluted and the waste on the earth produces different poisonous gases which pollute the air. On the other hand, forests where purity air have been cut down and new cities and industries have been established in their place. The cutting of the forests causes what is called "The Green House Effects". It results in the heating of the earth's surface…
