Miss Warren Informative Speech
“What’s going on, Miss Warren?” I asked. She hesitated, then replied with “Your father is waiting for you outside, he has some news.” I wondered what my dad had to say. Thousands of thoughts ran through my head as I made my way outside to where my dad was supposedly waiting. What was so important that he had to take me out of school for? I was out of the school building, looking around to find my father when I felt someone hug me from behind. I turned around to see my sister! It was Mary Runs Away! I couldn’t believe it, what a surprise. I now knew that Miss Warren was a liar, and a good one too. “Mary! What are you doing here!” I was far too excited, I missed my sister a ton.
“I’ve missed you and the family, Junior. I came to visit and I do have some big news! I’ve been working on a novel...and

After I congratulated her, we went to our car where my dad had been. Missing one day of school wouldn’t be so bad right? I mean it’s for a good reason too, MY SISTER CAME BACK FROM MONTANA! That day all we did was celebrate, even Rowdy came to congratulate my sister. I thought Rowdy still really hated my guts, turns out he doesn’t. I guess he missed me which is good because I missed him too. It felt good to have my best friend back. “You should come to Reardan with me.” I told Rowdy.
“You’ve asked me that before.” He replied. I desperately wanted him to join me at Reardan, so I tried convincing him that day. A few days later my sister goes back to Montana to her husband. Rowdy later came up to me telling me he had something important to share. I wonder what it could be because he’s never this serious about anything but in this moment, he was dead serious. I was hoping it wasn’t something terrible. “Junior,I’m joining you at Reardan.”I never thought this day would come, I never thought that Rowdy would change his mind. Words couldn’t express how happy I was. In that moment I knew that everything could change for the better, and it

You really don’t know who we are?” Jason shrugged helplessly. “It’s worse than that. I don’t know who I am.” The bus dropped them in front of a big red stucco complex like a museum, just sitting in the middle of nowhere. Maybe that’s what it was: the National Museum of Nowhere, Jason thought. A cold wind blew across the desert. Jason hadn’t paid much attention to what he was wearing, but it wasn’t nearly warm enough: jeans and sneakers, a purple T-shirt, and a thin black windbreaker. “So, a crash course for the amnesiac,” Leo said, in a helpful tone that made Jason think this was not going to be helpful. “We go to the ‘Wilderness School’”—Leo made air quotes with his fingers. “Which means we’re ‘bad kids.’ Your family, or the court, or whoever, decided you were too much trouble, so they shipped you off to this lovely prison—sorry, ‘boarding school’—in Armpit, Nevada, where you learn valuable nature skills like running ten miles a day through the cacti and weaving daisies into hats! And for a special treat we go on ‘educational’ field trips with Coach Hedge, who keeps order with a baseball bat. Is it all coming back to you now?” “No.” Jason glanced apprehensively at the other kids: maybe twenty guys, half that many girls. None of them looked like hardened criminals, but he wondered what they’d all done to get sentenced to a school for delinquents, and he wondered why he belonged with them. Leo rolled his eyes. “You’re really gonna play this out,…

As he had yanked on the back of my collar and hauled me away from his clique, I could hear them snickering about me. I whined like a wounded dog as he finally stopped clutching my collar, and when the pain had subsided to a dull throb, I tried to negotiate and pleaded to him that I would even do all the chores, except Suzanah’s, for a month. But, the knob head wouldn’t bargain with me. Angus just sat and hung his head in his hands, as I started listing all the reasons why he should get me some tickets. That was until I was filled with the dread and realisation, as it rose inside me like the crashing waves of a tsunami, that all the tickets were sold out. As I fell against the wall, my hair fell in my eyes, but I was too shock-stricken to flick it away.…

"I'm going for a walk." The sound of his wife's tear-filled accusations rang in Jarrod Levy's ears as the thirty-five year old Jarrod Levy pulled on a coat, exited into the cold night air, and slammed the front door behind him. Another argument, one of many they'd had in the three months since they'd move across the country for his career, and he'd had to get out of there before his anger and frustration took hold, causing him to say something he'd regret. The words they'd exchanged, ones he knew he'd regret in the morning, had already been enough.…

Throughout the 1970’s there was only three very small strip shopping malls the served a country setting population. Then the 1980’s came, and flooded the suburbs with malls. People still went into Washington, D.C.…
