The topic I chose for my interest is Aqua Aerobics. I recently joined an aqua aerobics classes and I wanted to learn and get more information about the topic. I started my research from basic using Google and typing ‘aqua aerobics’ and searching about the topic. I used both constructivism and social constructivism theories for researching my topic.
Throughout my research using constructivism theory I educated myself about aqua aerobics using different social and informational websites. For my research I used Wikipedia, YouTube, Facebook and pinterest.
Wikipedia [1] was a great source to get knowledge about basics of aqua aerobics. In Wikipedia the writer described what aqua aerobics is about by briefly explaining the variations from land based aerobics, Benefits and disadvantages of aqua aerobics and how it is performed. Wikipedia is a reliable source as it is very informative and also helps searching topics easier. Detailed information is available on the website. The page was last modified in April 2014, and external links also shows that this is a reliable source to search about my topic.
In YouTube [2] I found over 25000 videos about aqua aerobics, people sharing their views and videos about the workouts. Members shared different techniques of exercising in shallow water and inspiring other members to join. Going through other members comments on videos gave me more information about aqua aerobics. Members shared their views and their good and bad experiences by commenting and liking or disliking the videos. The video I chose ‘9 wonderful water workouts: Lose fat, get fit’ had 68,983 views and more than 25 comments, video was uploaded 11 months ago and via comments I could contact the author /video up loader to find out more about it. This video was shared by ‘Mind your body TV’ which is a very credible and reliable channel and this also shows that YouTube is a credible source for searching topics.

I learned about the experimental method, which is a method in which an experiment is conducted with manipulation to an independent variable-the manipulated- to determine and record the effects on the dependent variable-the tested. Naturalistic observation is another research method. In this method, the researcher observes a situation play out as it would naturally, and does not interfere. More personal ways of research are also available such as a case study. A case study is in depth to a single subject. After you do all of your research, you should evaluate it. Evaluation of research is important because is helps prevent making false expectations. I now know the process it takes to obtain research, and I think this will help me in the future for conducting any experiment, observation, or study. I more thoroughly understand what the processes consist…

Constructivism is a theory, based on observation and scientific study, about how people learn. It says that people construct their own understanding and knowledge of the world, through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences. When we encounter something new, we compare it to our previous ideas and experience, maybe changing what we believe, or maybe discarding the new information as irrelevant. The constructivist theory asserts that we are active creators of our own knowledge. We must ask questions, explore, and assess what we know.…

Constructivism is a learning theory describing the process of knowledge construction. Knowledge construction is an active, rather than a passive process. Constructivists believe that knowledge should not be just deposited into the learners’ minds; instead it should be constructed by the learners through active involvement in the learning process. Hausfather (2001) noted that, Constructivism is not a method. It is a theory of knowledge and…
