1. INTRODUCTION
The Mirage IV is a supersonic jet developed for the French Air Force to conduct nuclear air-to-ground missions against the Soviet Union during the cold-war. The Mirage IV was developed on the basics of the Mirage III by the French company Dassault.
Produced between 1963 and 1968, a total of 62 aircraft were built, the last being retired in 2005 (although it's strategic nuclear bomber role had already been taken over since 1996 by the newer Mirage 2000N bomber, which was also replaced by a nuclear version of the Rafale in 2009). I chose to talk about this airplane because even though its production has stopped, its design and performance features are still one of the best ever done. All of the plane’s features were very well developed, and it would still be on use, if it wasn’t for its design becoming old and its greater fuel consumption when compared to more recent aircrafts. Mirage IV is still between the TOP 10 best bombers ever made.

The Mirage IV was the airborne component of France’s Force de Frappe as a medium bomber and as a reconnaissance aircraft.
The Mirage IV was first flown by Dassault test pilot Roland Glavanny on 17th June 1959, it was equipped
