[A]ABSTRACT
The Conventional method of Wireless Transmission uses a Single Antenna each at the source and at the Destination giving rise to problems of Multipath Propagation. Multipath is the propagation phenomenon where transmitted information collides with ceilings, walls and other objects, which reaches the receiving antenna multiple times via different angles and at slightly different times causing a reduction in data speed and an increase in the number of errors. The objective of our paper is to portray a new technique that transforms the drawbacks of multipath propagation into a benefit for the user to improve communication performance. This paper presents a Multipath Fading Mitigation Technique that reduces the negative impact of the fading process. In our Paper, Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology:a Wireless Technology uses Two Transmitters and Receivers each to transmit the multiple signals (one for each antenna) at the source and the destination. It promises to deliver the best solution to eliminate the trouble caused by multipath wave propagation. The outcome has better quality (lower bit-error-rate (BER)) or higher data rate than a single version of the signal.

SOLUTION TO MULTIPATH FADING: Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO): is a wireless technology that uses Multiple

Hills states that the "four major concerns" facing designers of Wi-Fi networks are reliability, performance, coverage, and security. The reason for these concerns is the use of radio transmission in Wi-Fi networks. A signal in a Wi-Fi network can degrade due to several reasons. The first reason is "attenuation," which means that radio signals weaken over long distances. The second reason is due to a phenomenon called "multipath distortion," which means that signals can bounce off objects to cause duplicate signals to arrive at the receiver. The third reason for signal degradation is caused by interference. Interference can come from many sources, including microwave ovens and natural sources.…

Space Weather profiling is the concept of modeling the changing environmental conditions in near-Earth space in the form of a mathematical model. Solar Activity, Inconsistent variations in radiation level, total electron count, water vapor profiles are some of the parameters measured using the on board devices of the micro-satellite that we shall be discussing here. The module consists of a Geiger Muller Tube/counter, a Radiometric IR camera and a GPS Receiver. The Geiger Muller Tube takes radiation readings when there is ionizing radiation incident on its mica window. The radiation reading is in the form of dose rates. The second device i.e. the Radiometric IR Camera takes a thermal image of the temperature fluctuations because of this ionizing radiation. The data from these two devices are then plotted onto the same map to give 3D Predictive Model of radiation which can then be extrapolated depending on our purpose. The GPS receiver takes in the signal from the GPS satellite which passes through the atmospheric limb path and it’s bending takes place due to the various factors like change in pressure, temperature, water vapor, TEC. The angle of bend can be measured to obtain the profile of these factors causing the bend by using Abel transforms and other mathematical models. The data collected from the…

MIMO technology leverages multipath behavior by using multiple, “smart” transmitters and receivers with an added “spatial” dimension to dramatically increase performance and range. MIMO allows multiple antennas to send and receive multiple spatial streams at the same time. This allows antennas to transmit and receive simultaneously.…

The Electrical Engineering Senior Capstone Project is intended to give each student experience in completing a sophisticated design project that spans most of the senior year. Planning, management of time, allocation of responsibility, documentation, and presentation of the results are integrated with the technical design task. The students work with one or two faculty advisors who have expertise in the project research area. The student is fully responsible for the design project, with the advisor(s) acting as guide and mentor. Each student is expected to work an eight-hour lab period each week from October through May.A common problem found in high-speed communication is inter-symbol interference(ISI).ISI occurs when a transmission interferes with itself and the receiver cannot decode the transmission correctly. For example, in a wireless communication system such as that shown in Figure 1, the same transmission is sent in all directions.…
