Millennials Pros And Cons
Millennials are people born between the years of 1980 and 2000 and they are roughly between the ages of 18 and 33. Some generations prior to millennials are Generation X, Baby Boomers, and the Silent Generation. Millennials in many ways are different from any other generation. Millennials are the most racially diverse, less percentage of them are married, and also studies have shown that many millennials are considered to be helicoptered by their parents. These parents are called helicopter parents. Helicopter parents can be causing more harm than good to their kids. Helicopter parenting is probably one of the most discussed topics with millennials. When they send their child off to college they try to still helicopter them as much as possible. Some parents force their kids to major in certain things because they believe that is what will be the most beneficial to them even if it is something that does not interest them or even if they do not want to major in it. If you force someone to major in something that they have no interest in then it can make it hard for them to be successful in college because they will lack the motivation needed. Also, even when they do graduate from college they will be stuck doing some job for the rest of their life that does not interest them and they do not care for. Helicopter parents are helicopter parents because they want their kid to be successful in their life. They believe that the best way to do it is to be involved in every phase of their kid’s life. It may be beneficial to the kid at an early age but there comes a point where it will start to harm them in the long run. Helicopter parents are causing more harm than good to their kids. Honestly, every parent wants their kid to be successful but maybe the best way for them to be successful is to let them figure life out on their own and not to helicopter
