PROJECT MILESTONES: ENTERPRISE STRATEGIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS PLAN

This document briefly explain on how the team should plan to carry out and monitor the project weekly until the submission of the report. Students are encourage to follow the schedule closely to ensure the quality of the deliverable. Week | Description task | 2 | Project Part 1: Briefing on project. * Identifying organisation * Project milestone * Output | 4 | Project Part 2: Selecting organisation * Choose one organization that you familiar with its’ operation. It can be manufacturing, services or government organization. It is recommended for business entity. If not, establish a new business enterprise. Familiarize the organization by searching and describing the information such as: * Mission, vision and objectives * Organization structure and various functions * Types of product/ services * Market * Business strategic plan * Other information relevant to explain the organization. | 6 | Project Part 3: * Understanding the issues and challenges facing the organization using either SWOT, Porter Five Forces Model tools. * Describe the competitive business environmentof the organisation. | 7 | Project Part 4: * Capture the existing information system used such as the types of IS. * Review it’s existing IS plan document if any. | 9 | Project Part 5: * Evaluate existing strategic plan if any and suggest a competitive direction that firm should adopt in order to achieve its mission, vision and business objectives. | 12 | Project Part 6: * Then use applications portfolio in presenting your future information systems requirement. * Recommend new ISIT strategic plan that considers items identified in Part 5 and uses various IS that fit firm’s business plan or direction based on six reasons why organization invests on IS/IT * Plan may
