Midsummer Nights Dream
In the play A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy of the ups and downs that the characters in the play experience in love. “The course of true love never did run smooth,” said Lysander, love in the play is showed as changeable or inconstant, it is constantly changing for who loves who, and love and hate between characters (1.1.134). A Midsummer Night's Dream is based around inconstant love some mainly due from Puck the fairy who causes mischief, and examples of inconstant love throughout the relationship of Titania and Oberon, third is Lysander and Hermia's relationship with their ups and downs with love. In A Midsummer Night's Dream, the character Puck the fairy causes a lot of trouble for the characters in the woods, such as Hermia, Helena, Demetrius, Lysander, and Titania and Oberon. Puck has a potion that he drops in the eyes of the characters while they are sleep that causes them to fall in love with the first person they see when they wake. These things Puck did caused the love to be inconstant. First off Puck put the potion into Lysander's eyes instead of Demetrius' while he was sleeping, causing him to fall in love with Helena instead of Hermia. As of Puck doing this causing Lysander to be in love with Helena, making Helena feel offended because she thought she was being mocked. Puck did this when Lysander was sleeping as he said “On the ground, Sleep sound: I'll apply To your eye, Gentle lover, remedy.” as he put the potion into Lysander's eyes (3.3.340). Puck did this to try and cause slight problems for the travellers in the woods.

Doing this makes Hermia extremely jealous and assuming this was due to Helena being taller than Hermia therefore better. Hermia assumes that Helena stole Lysander from her.
