ABSTRACT
This practical was regarding microorganisms in the environment as we know microorganisms are everywhere ,this session was divided in three parts where in part A of the practical we planted microorganisms on different petri dishes in order to verify if the microorganisms are really everywhere The necessity and value of collecting, identifying, and analyzing the various microbes regularly encountered in the daily human environment becomes quite apparent .when one gains even a very basic knowledge of how diseases are acquired and spread. The purpose of this lab was to collect and observe microbes from environmental and human body samples by culturing them on the appropriate media using aseptic transfer techniques. And also regard different effect of temperature on microbial growth in Part B ,and looking also the resistance of Bacteria to heat ,the result on was quite visible ,in part A of this practical we noticed the extremely growth of microbes on different petri dishes and the growth was differing according to the way we inoculated the petri dishes ,and in Part B we saw that the Temperature was really affecting the growth of Microbes as well as in part C where we saw that some Microbes are really resisting to heat .I was impressed by the way that microorganisms are everywhere regarding the way

This experiment is to observe the significance of food safety. In addition, it will illustrate foodborne sicknesses and how food can be compromised by bacteria. This lab will culture washed and unwashed lettuce, as well as fresh unopened milk, and milk that has been opened for 7 days. The prediction for this lab, is that the unwashed lettuce and the opened milk will have the most bacteria growth. All results are meticulous within the expectations of the lab report.…

This experiment was centered on metabolic and biochemical testing procedures. The rationale of performing these tests was to distinguish six different microbes from one another and to compare how their metabolic and biochemical processes differ from species to species to determine the unknown sample. The tests included: Triple sugar iron agar (TSAI), the Sulfide Indole Mobility (SIM) test, Glucose fermentation, the Methyl Red test, the Voges-Proskauer test, Citrate test, the Urease Test, and finally the Gelatin test. The microbes that were tested during this lab were: Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella typhimurium. The sample labeled #11 could have been any of the six microbes.…

The ten Petri dishes that exclusively did not contain an antibiotic in the bacteria culture served as the control. There were ten trials for the control and each level of IV. The experiment began by cleaning the work area and sterilizing it with 70% ethanol. Then trypticase soy agar (TSA) was poured into six groups of 60 Petri dishes (See Appendix 1). The dishes were labeled based on the antibiotic used and were left to dry and solidify at room temperature. After an hour, the dishes were placed in a refrigerator at three degrees Celsius. If there was visible condensation on the agar plate, they were flipped to avoid the contact of heat that drove the moisture out of the agar dishes. The contents of the broth culture of E. coli was gently swirled…

There are many reasons for knowing the identity of microorganisms. The reasons range from the knowing the causative agent of a disease in a patient, so as to know how it can be treated, to knowing the correct microorganism to be used for making certain antibiotics. This study was done by applying all of the methods that have been learned so far in the microbiology laboratory class for the identification of an unknown bacterium.…

Four locations frequented by the school populace were selected, they included; the handle of the paper dispenser in the first floor women's restroom, the spatula used in the sandwich bar in the dining commons, the outer handle of the front entrance to the Upper School, and the microphone part of the podium. The plan was to collect samples of the bacteria with the help of a swab and transfer them to individual Petri dishes at the same time to prevent any variability in the experiment. The bacterial samples would be allowed to grow in an agar medium under the same conditions. The colonies were allowed to grow for a certain period of time before emulating their growth pattern and appearance. In this experiment the independent variable is the location and the dependent variable is the growth…
