Michael Vey Prisoner of Cell 27

Assignment: Persuasive Writing Passage
Michael Vey was the main character in a book I read called “Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25” that I enjoyed a lot. The book tells a story of a boy who lives with his mother in Idaho. He has a very special power, the ability to shock people. But, he uses it for good by fighting evil. From zapping three bullies at school to “the rise of the Electroclan”. The main character, Michael, would be a good role model for seventh grade students because he is smart, curious and cautious.
Michael illustrates that he is smart by coming up with a way to hide the tic’s caused from his tourette’s syndrome by dropping a pencil on the floor. Sometimes he has to drop it several times and everybody just thinks he’s clumsy because he kept dropping his pencil during every class. I think it is a good trait to have because being smart can help people become successful and avoid dangerous situations. Intelligence can also help people learn how to deal with problems more effectively and successfully. In today’s world, being smart can help you in life by being able to work towards and get a good job, being successful and having a satisfying life. The main character is also a curious person because in this story; he tried to test how many volts he could get from his electric powers. Another example is the way Michael was able to figure out the powers of the others and formed the Electroclan. Curiosity is a good trait to have because it keeps your thoughts moving and alert. Being curious will also lead to situations that would help you learn more about people and all sorts of other things. Being curious is a good trait to have when you are older because it can let you learn so much about the world around you.
Michael is a very cautious person because in the story he does not tell a cheerleader, that he cares about, his secret. He tries to learn more about the girl before he tells her.
