Michael Maybrick Research Paper
Michael Maybrick, also known as Stephen Adams was an English composer who wrote many heart filled compositions. Maybrick was born January 31, 1841, in Liverpool, United Kingdom. He lived and worked in the United Kingdom until he died on August 26, 1913, in Buxton, United Kingdom, of heart failure and was buried in Ryde, Isle of Wight. Although, he lived in Liverpool, he went to get his education in other places. He got his education in Liverpool, Milan, and Leipsic, where he was trained in music. Maybrick went to Leipzig to study keyboard and harmony, but later decided to train as a baritone with Gaetano Nava in Milan (Revolvy LLC). His music was not the only interesting thing about him though. In his time in history, there was a killer going around called “Jack the Ripper”. This supposed serial killer was killing women who were prostitutes. He would rip the women limb from limb and take their organs out and organize them beside the women. You may wonder why I am stating this, but Jack the Ripper was thought to be Michael Maybrick. Maybrick was not put into jail though, due to the fact that he was a Freemason and the police could not do anything. A Freemason is a member of an international order established for mutual help and fellowship, which holds elaborate secret ceremonies. His brother kept a journal that was the rippers journal, but no one believed it was him, therefore they turned to his brother Michael. Even though Maybrick was a famous composer and wrote beautiful music he was more than the eye could ever see. His music lifted up people, but would that not be the perfect cover up?
