Mental health
I have chosen this field of nursing as I find all the elements fascinating due to the different challenges I would have to face. Nursing is a very challenging and demanding career; and this field especially so, however I feel the rewards would be great and that I am ready to embark on this career. I am ready and very eager to accomplish this career where i can help and care for people to the best of my ability and becoming a mental health nurse would allow me to fulfill this ambition. A career in nursing requires people to be dedicated, reliable, trusting, caring people who are able to develop good relationships to their patients. I have had work experience during school, college and voluntary work of different areas of the health sector. During this time I worked with young children and individuals with mental health conditions, this was exciting to see how different service users use different ways to communicate to each other and how the service workers had to use different techniques to help individuals in different activities.
These experiences have given me a real and practical understanding some of the challenges a mental health support worker has to contend with, but also a great sense of satisfaction to be found in caring for patients and being able to help them to achieve some balance in their day-to-day life and to maintain their
