What is the mission statement? 1. The Mental Health Association’s mission statement states, “The Mental Health Association in Greensboro provides leadership in identifying and addressing mental health needs and serves as an advocate for those dealing with mental health challenges by promoting hope and recovery” (http://www.mhag.org/about-us/, 2015). This mission statement provides an excellent foundation for the organization, and is a good example of a quality mission statement based on guidelines in this week’s module.

According to Bruce Johnson, a good mission statement has the power to “drive your company” (Johnson, 2015). Thus, one’s goal is to properly formulate a proper mission statement, assisting in the companies direction and sucess.
