Memorial Day Reflection
For as young as I was it is unfathomable to me on how or where I gathered my confidence in speaking my speeches publically on Memorial Day for the past few years, but then I remembered I had support from many aspects in my life which helped me gather together the ideas for writing and the confidence to express/communicate my morning thoughts to the community for the Memorial Service at the Bayview Cemetary. I tried my best every year at making sure my speech was written by self with the help of an adult advisor who happen to be my Aunt and the Legion coordinator for the Memorial Poppy Girl this was lucky for me yet also a curse because it gave me first place in Poppy Girl, there was a year or two I advised a younger Poppy girl being a senior

    I was asked to talk about the 50-year anniversary of the Vietnam war. And as most of you can probably tell, I wasn’t alive 50 years ago, so I went to my grandfather who fought in that war and I asked him to recount his experience.     Although no one of my mom’s side has been a veteran, my grandfather on my dad’s side served in Korea. Thankfully he survived the war, and he told my father a lot of stories about his time overseas.
