28 February 2013 Memorable Moments

It didn't take me much effort to decide on what to write about when the instructor announced the next assignment "three memorable events". This phrase was enough and those three events jumped immediately to my mind, that school trip to Petra in 2009 was un forgettable one, yet that incident when I lost my passport in De Gaulle airport Paris was terrifying and recently my oldest brother's wedding back home in Jordan, was a real family celebration.
It was 2009 and our school had organized a trip to Petra, I used to live in the north and Petra is located in the south of Jordan, so the bus road trip would take most of the trip, that however was may be what made it. The girls enjoyed their time, we sang, danced, exchanged accessories and IPODS, listened to every song we loved and laughed hysterically. We arrived Petra at about 10:40 which was a perfect timing for seeing the rosy city in its utmost glamour. In order to get to the main monument we had to walk through the Seeq, a three-kilometer zigzag path. After about half an hour walk we were there. The scene was a kind of splendiferous native creativity of a highly sophisticated primitive sculpturesque monument. In other words I stood there astonished. I and all my friends were taken by the moment. The long trip was worth it.
It was June 2009 when I was in my way from Jordan to the US we had to stop in Charles De Gaulle International AirPort in Paris for three hours before we continue our flight to The US. I found it an opportunity to look around for those three hours so I started wandering here and over there in the airport. I entered one of the restaurants to eat something because I was starving. After that it was only one hour before the flight resumed I felt like want to go the rest room. So I entered the rest room then to the gate to resume the trip. When I reached

At this time one of the stewardesses came to me and gave me special form for US arrival security. I have a thing about filling out the forms and I felt happy. But after a while, I felt annoyed because of the many forms that I received. At last the airplane came to a bumpy landing. The airplane went over a long way and at the end parked near one of the floating aisles. German passengers talked with sleepy and deadpan faces which made me feel tired, unwilling to get up from my seat. The cabin's cold and timeworn air disturbed me during the nine hours flight. I thought that at least I could smell freedom after that, but still I could not smell anything in the air. Leaving the plane, I wobbled and I felt cramped.…

This lively feeling was short lived as my most ‘memorable moment’ happened during our journey back home. The bus was filled with cultural music and we were all eating away at the traditional American cheese burgers with fries. This peaceful and friendly atmosphere was soon disturbed by a large burst and tilting movement of the coach. We all looked on ahead with our stuffed mouths waiting upon the news of what was going on. We were informed that the tyres had burst and, in no other than one of the busiest places in the world. New York City.…

I was on the plane V123 bound for Vietnam. My flight was at eight in the morning. Arriving at the airport at six, I thought i had time for a Big Breakfast at MacDonald's. I was devouring my breakfast when the announcement for my flight was made. "Good morning. V123 is ready for boarding. Passengers with kids, those from buisness and first class, you may now board the plane." I gazed at my watch, feeling foolish as I had forgotten to change my battery. I instantneously picked up my haversack and sprinted for the boarding gate. Thankfully, I made it in time.…

“My Papa's Waltz” by Theodore Roethke and, “Piano” by D. H. Lawrence both recollect a childhood memory. The two poems are also different eventhough they are talking about a childhood memory. The poems have the same background, but in “My Papa's Waltz” it is a boy and his father and in “Piano” it is a boy and his mother; one is positive and one is negative; and lastly the feeling of each poet is different in each poem.…

During our childhood, there are many events that are memorable and influential; Memories are a part of life. We use our memory function to recall the memories we once had. Memory is a vital part of the learning process. Without it, learning would be impossible. If our brain recorded nothing from the past, we would be unable to learn anything new. All our experiences would be lost as soon as they ended, and each new situation would be totally unfamiliar. If memories hindered or helped people in their effort to learn from their past, it would really have to depend on the individual. Every person is different, so therefore, their memories are going to be different also. These memories are the ones that teach us in our adult life the most affable aspects about ourselves, and our reactions to others. As we look back into our childhood and see those times, we should not have regrets, but we should know that they taught us some positive lessons. Sometimes it is quite difficult to remember too far back into our childhood for a memorable event, but there are a series of events that I still remember to this day ,some of them are fun, some events are sad.…

    Most Memorable Event

The most memorable event that I have been to was in 2006 when I went to a Harlem Globetrotters game with my family. The game was held at the Time Warner Cable arena and it was the first time that I have been in the Time Warner Cable Arena which made it even more memorable. When I first walked into the Arena I was in complete awe. At the time, I’ve never seen a place so big in person. So many seats, so many people and we were on the first row right behind the goal. I was on cloud nine and that was not even the best part. A man walking by who happened to be one of the coordinators of the whole event overheard my cousin and I trash talking to each other about who was a better player and who could shoot better. The guy came up to us and said “I like the trash talk. Want to settle it on the court?” And we both nodded excitingly. Apparently the guy was walking around the Arena to find two people to play in the halftime event and we just so happened to be the lucky two.…

It was the summer of 2017, where I was in the plane travelling to Israel for two weeks with my boyfriend at the time. It was going to be a tough tournament as I was competing against women who have any age, when I was only sixteen. My goal of the tournament was to achieve a world ranking. I had to start from qualification, which I succeeded in by beating three girls. The final round to make the main draw of the tournament, I was up against a local Israeli girl, in which there was an overwhelming crowd support for her. There were no doubts that I was driven by my goals and dreams with heart in it and also had just as much support from my boyfriend at the time, who also competed in the men’s tournament. The location…
