Introduction McNally and Harvey’s publication examines the role in which career and technical student organizations play in the career and technical education of students identified as having disabilities or special needs. To that effect, the article emphasizes the shared notion of self-determination within career and technical student organizations and individualized education plans. While acknowledging this emphasis, McNally and Harvey argue that career and technical student organizations avail students of a range of opportunities and methods to further compliment the goal of achieving self-determination for both populations.
