Mcdonalds Minimum Wage
Throughout America and all across the world you can find a fast-food franchise such as

McDonalds. When I think of McDonalds of course the first thing that comes to mind is, Big Mac,

Large fries and a Milkshake, but to the employees of McDonalds it’s a much bigger picture.

Have to ever drove out of a mcdolads “drive thru” and thought about the employee that just

served you a meal? Do you know that McDonald’s employees are making 7.35 hour? Well it’s a

shocking fact. McDonalds and many other fast food chain restaurants are profiting each year in

big part due to the minimum wages they offer employees. I myself was an employee working at

McDonalds, and for the amount of work required, making more than minimum wage is

justifiable. On average

Could you live and support a family making minimum wages?

I researched this question and came up with this responds. The answer is no. You cannot support a

family making minimum wages. My reasoning is simple, normal employee makes (7.35) an hour,

equaling roughly over (15.000) a year per. An average 2 bedroom apartment is Philadelphia is approx.

700 dollars per mouth, equaling a total of (8400$) per year. Simple math, subtract the total rent from

the salary leaving you with a total of (6600) dollars. (15,000-8400=6600) now let’s subtract

Considering those

numbers are accurate, Could a normal family survive with the remainder of the salary considering I did

not subtract the federal income tax deducted from the initial salary? So to answer my question, No. you

could not support a family making minimum wage.

Should McDonalds employees deserves to make 15 dollars and hour?

I thought about this question long and hard and my answer is no, I don’t believe McDonalds employees

or any other fast food establishment should pay their employees 15 dollars an hour. 15 dollars an hour

is a pretty substantial increase from minimum wage and the affects from an increase that large could

have a major impact to our economy. I do believe fast-food employees deserve a fair wage of maybe

Census Bureau, the average gross rent is between $500-$1500 when the majority 50.7% falls in $750-&999 ranges. This may have been accurate for 2000, but it is undoubtedly not the price range today in 2009. A two bedroom one bathroom apartment in my building can start from $1400 a month. Other data that in my opinion does not match today is the occupants per room. In 2000, both renters and owner occupied units was mostly between 0.5-1 per room. With increasing rent and decreasing resources, like the situation in the past year, people cannot afford to splurge and enjoy the connivance of each having his/her own room. More and more I hear about families moving in together, young couples seeking for a roommate to help with the monthly payment, and single parents looking for one bedroom for them and their…

“No family gets rich from earning the minimum wage. In fact, the current minimum wage does not even lift a family out of poverty” (Jon corzine). The first minimum wage; a fundamental labor standard designed to protect workers, just as child labor laws and overtime pay rules do, in the U.S. was only $.25, a huge difference from today’s $10.00. Minimum wage was imposed by the Standards Act of 1938, which president Franklin D. Roosevelt had signed. A business owner in the U.S. who is not willing to pay it’s workers, the people of the United States more than the minimum wage to help with the continous cost of living then they are showing they are being selfish and not caring about our everyday living cost. Minimum wage should be raised to at least…
