McDonald in the Global Market As I visited each site of each country, the similarities in products that McDonald offerings around the world are the burger sandwiches, dessert, lunch set menu, happy meal for kids, and drinks. The difference in the products offerings also different kind sandwich flavors, how many different type of cold, hot drinks, and dessert depend on the countries' weather, website color layout, and service they offering. One thing I find interesting is McDonald's Big Mac is on every menu of all 10 countries that I did research on. Coffee drinks also common on their menu with different kind of taste. Only 3 or 4 countries out of 10 have the same kind of coffee drinks offer on menu. The chicken nuggets menu found almost in every menu too . Coke or coca cola drink is really popular all over the world. I saw it in every menu, and it is the first one on the list of drinks and shown on the picture of the set menu and/or lunch menu. The differences in product offerings are really unlikely compare to each other. In the South Korea menu, I saw one sandwich named bulgogi burger. This one sandwich is one of a kind for South Korean. On the Thai menu, I notice a lot of cold drinks and cold dessert since Thailand is hot for all year long. Whereas the two countries located in middle east and Africa, Egypt and Israel, I notice there are more wrap and salad menu than any other countries. One last thing that caught my attention is the website layout. For Japan's website layout is really special than others. For other countries' website color layout, they use colors that pop up to our eyes such as red with yellow, green with yellow. As for the background they use neither black or white. However for Japan's website color, they use light brown with gray color as the background. This really how Japanese culture shown to others. From the perspective of global product or service strategies,

    2. A. Such as McDonald’s and General Mills should change the colors of its logo or packaging depending on the country, because of their own cultures. For example, the yellow signifies happiness in the U.S., the color symbolizes sadness in Greece and jealousy in France. Likewise, when a company decides to do a business globally, they have to segment the market geographically and cater to the different target market’s needs and wants, not from the ones of the home country. McDonald 's is one of, if not the most widely recognized names in the food industry. This is quite the accomplishment for the once small family owned burger establishment founded back in 1948. McDonalds is not only a giant in the food industry, but has also grown to be one of the largest real estate holding companies in the world. McDonalds owns a considerable number of the properties that the McDonald’s stores reside on, leasing them out to the franchisees. McDonalds has expanded its operations to over 30,000 establishments located all over the world in over 118 countries. Being the largest restaurant in the world’s, has not come without its fair share of significant accomplishments and setbacks. The company has for various different reasons had to close some of its foreign operations in countries such as Bolivia, Jamaica, and other countries where sales were not doing satisfactory. Overall, none of these seems to have any substantial effect on the colossal giant (McDonald’s Abroad, 2009).…

The packaging, the core menu, logo, brandname, distribution strategy, positioning of the company, main idea of the advertisements, design of the stores, business model, taste of the food, desing of the kitchens and working conditions of the workers are same everywhere in the world. As a strategy the company keeps all these operations standardized in order to remain profitable and global. However there are cases where standardization becomes an obstacle and McDonalds needs to make adjustments in order to enter the local market and expand its market share. In these cases, considering local preferences; product localization is done, some local tastes could be added to the menus (although its menus vary from country to country its core product offering is consistent on a global basis), as a marketing localization the company can combine local expectations with core values of American McDonalds and reach the target demographic.…
