Maya Angelou: The Inspirations Of An African American Woman
To be inspired is great, but to inspire is an honor. Maya Angelou is a famous poet,writer,and civil rights activists that inspires the world in so many different ways. She gave good advice. In life, sometimes you get discouraged and want to give up but, Angelou said, “if you can’t do something change it if you can’t change it, change your attitude” (Haigh). This is inspiring because humans have a lot of agency over their lives, their feelings, and their beliefs.
Angelou is telling us that we alone have the right and ability to control our lives and make them what we want them to be. She also inspires us to believe in our dreams,passions,and desires and is willing to get over the victim “I change a thing because…” mentality there’s nothing you can’t do. Angelou is also inspiring because she is a feminist that explored the experiences and viewpoints of being an African American woman in the United States. It's telling people all over the world that just because you've hit the first hard obstacle or stumbling block in life you don't give up. She lets people know that things happen to everybody on their journeys in life its how you choose to deal with it and learn from it. Angelou message of enduring is inspiring and powerful;if we give up at the first sign of trouble, we wouldn't achieve anything that's important or of great value. These test of endurance mold us into who were going to be and teaches us how to pick ourselves back up.
