Social work is among the most values-based and ethics-based of all professions. It is the purpose of this paper to logically and critically identify the importance of values and ethics as an integral part of social work education, especially in regards to Master of Social Work (MSW) internship programs. Although MSW internship programs include individuals from a range of demographic and cultural groups, it is critical that MSW students learn about and confront ethical dilemmas and raise issues regarding programs, policies, and procedures. In this case study, the Immigration and Refugee Ministries Association (IRMA) offered a MSW internship program to a student named Scott Campbell despite influx of leadership.
