Sa labi ng inang mahal, pagkagising;
Ang pita ng bisig as siya’y yapusin,
Pati mga mata’y ngumgiti mandin.

Kung dahil sa bayan, kay tamis mamatay,
Doon sa kasuyo ang abot ng araw;
Kamatayan pati ng simoy sa parang
Sa walang pag-ibig, ni ina, ng Bayan
In 1893, Julio Nakpil composed "Amor Patrio", which he dedicated to Dr. José Rizal. Nakpil used lyrics of the song that Maria Clara sang in "Noli me tangere", Chapter 23. "Amor Patrio" is a composition for orhestra in five music sheets, but only an excerpt from the 8th up to the 16th music scale has been rendered into a midi file by Ian-James R. Andres, which is embedded in this page.
Antonio Molina composed "Awit ni Maria Clara", which became popular with the version recorded by the Tres Rosas Singers for Villar Recording company in the 1960's. The midi
Although Julio Nakpil never called his "Amor Patrio" a kundiman, it could very well have been one, as the words echo the love of country in the traditional kundiman songs, evident from the full text of the song of Maria Clara in its tagalog version.
Buhay ay kay tamis, sa sariling bayan,
Doon ang lahat na’y ating kaibigan.
Simoy nitong bangin, mula kaparangan,
Nagpapasariwa sa kalikasan.
Mainit na halik, naroon sa labi,
Ng irog na inang, siyang kumakandili.
Yakap ng ligaya, yakap ng pighati,
Init ng dibdib niya’y paraisong lagi.
Inang bayang mahal, di ka iiwanan,
Ningas ng ‘yong ilaw walang kamatayan.
Sukdulang ialay itong aking buhay,
Aalagaan ko iyong kalayaan.
Tamis nang mamatay, nang dahil sa bayan,
Araw ay sisikat sa

All of the planets in our solar system with the exception of Earth are named after Roman Gods Mercury is the god of travel and thievery in Roman mythology. The planet is probably named after this god because it moves quickly across the sky. Venus is the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Venus is undoubtedly named after her because it makes a beautiful sight in the sky. Earth is the only planet whose English name does not come from Greek/Roman mythology. Mars is the Roman god of War. The planet probably got this name due to its red color. Jupiter is the King of the Gods in Roman mythology, making the name a good choice for what is, by far the largest planet in our solar system. Saturn is the Roman god of agriculture. Uranus is the ancient Greek god of the Heavens, the earliest supreme god.…

The song, written by Tito Puente, is constructed from various instrumental sections, and the single 8 bar chorus is used twice during the song’s duration. Oye Como Va is a modal tune in the A Dorian mode. Two chords, Am7 and D9, – which form a i – IV progression in A Dorian – provide most of the tune’s harmonic colour. The chords are generally performed as a two bar organ riff, although it is also played by the guitar. This crescendo is a good example of creating a slightly different chord progression by keeping the same notes in the ‘melody’ instruments and changing the bass line.…

The music was originally credited to Félix Astol Artés in 1867 as an habanera danza, with romantic lyrics, but there is some evidence that Francisco Ramírez, a native of San Germán, wrote the music[2] in 1860, and named it "La Almojábana".[3] In 1868, Lola Rodríguez de Tió wrote a poem in support of the Puerto Rican revolution, which was set to the Ramirez/Astol Artés music. In fear of investigation by the Spanish insular government, Ramirez, asked Astól to claim authorship of the music since he was a native of Catalonia and would therefore raise no suspicion.[2]…

“Si Tú Me Olvidas” by Pablo Neruda is a poem that goes into depth about love. In this poem he explains how love can last a lifetime. It is quite a short poem compared to the longer ones I have read and only contains six stanzas. After some research, the poem is directed to a woman who is named Matilde Urrutia, and this will later be important. The style of the poem is free verse, and it contains signs of alliteration all throughout the poem. After looking it over countless times and looking up the meaning, there appears to be a great meaning to it. Each stanza talks about something different and even some may relate to one another in meaning, all the stanzas are extremely unique.…

As a geologist in the Mars One Project, I needed to do a lot of research on Mars, its atmosphere, its conditions, its soil, etc. My team’s mission is to find a way to provide nutrition to the astronauts. The contributions I have made with settling on Mars is, first of all, had to figure out the temperature of Mars. With the information we researched, we figured out what temperature we need to have in the greenhouse, and what temperature we needed for the plants to grow in. What I did separately, was that I researched what the soil on Mars is composed of. I searched this up because we needed to grow food on Mars to provide a good nutrition for the astronauts. The soil is composed of finely broken up basaltic rock fragments and are highly…

The madrigal is a distinctive type of secular song that originated in Italy. It was an aristocratic form of poetry and music that flourished at small Italian courts. In the piece, Cruda Amarilli, Monteverdi uses many musical devices that are typical of a madrigal. The lyrics in this song are repeated, the music accompanies the text in interesting ways, and there is a wide range of vocal notes. After listening to the piece just once you can immediately feel the unrequited love Monteverdi is displaying through his words and music. The music and instrumentation in this piece aid the voices to establish form and mood through word painting. He uses word painting and cadences to develop a theme of unrequited love.…

According to the International Astronomical Union, there are 8 planets in the Solar System. Located between Earth and Venus, there floats what some commonly refer to as the “small, red planet”- Mars. Mars is the fourth planet from the sun and widely known for its fierce coloring. Chinese astronomers called Mars “the fire star”. The Romans, who studied the solar system many centuries ago, named Mars after the Roman god of war because of its fiery red color (Kendell 181). The Romans are known to have copied the ancient Greeks, who also named Mars after their god of war, Ares.…

Mars is an interesting and mysterious planet. It is often referred to as the Red Planet. The Romans named Mars after the god of war. The rocks, soil, and sky all have a red hue on account of rust. Mars is the fourth planet from the sun at about 141 million miles (228 million kilometers) and the last terrestrial planet from the Sun. Mars follows closely behind Earth but is comparatively smaller, with about half the diameter of Earth (6,794-km) and about one-tenth of Earth s mass (6.419 x 1023 kg). Thus the force of gravity on Mars is about one-third of that on Earth. Mars is probably the planet we know the most about since it is so close to Earth, though what we know now is not even close to everything about the planet. Over the past several decades, humans have been interested about life on mars.…

What does a planet need to have in order to support life? Earth is unique in our solar system because it is the only planet that is supporting life. Some scientists go so far as to say that the Earth is a “perfect planet” because it has features that are the perfect environment for living organisms; these features include our atmosphere, water, and a single moon. Earth is also in a place in our solar system where the Sun gives off the right amount of energy to drive the life. The distance from the Earth to the Sun determines how much of that heat we receive. If it weren’t for our ozone layer and Earth’s magnetic field, harmful rays would penetrate our surface and life would be exterminated. Everything the Earth has to offer us is balanced perfectly to keep life continuous.…
