Reearch is ‘an endeavour to discover new or collate old facts etc by the scientific study of a subject or by a critical investigation’.
Characteristics of research

seven types of research are:
i. theoretical/Fundamental/pure research: it is the source of new theories used to increase behavior but not seeking to solve the queries. ii. Applied decisional research: it involves with practical problem with seeking a problem solving questions iii. Conceptual research: in this theory, the focus is upon pure theoretical principles for seeking a practical solution to the queries. iv. Historical reseach: it is study of past events to interpret records and data to project future trends.
v. Action research : this involves an action oriented research to solve problems. vi. Library research: involves the reviews of past reports , data and notes in order to collect, analyse and interpret. vii. Ex-post-facto research: it is an empirical enquiry for situations that have already occurred. This type of research explains the relationship between the independent constrants.
