Marijuana Plant Problems
There are several problems that may occur when growing marijuana. Some common issues include nutrient burns, lockouts, mite attacks and bud rots. These problems are discussed in greater detail in this chapter.
Nute Burn and Lockout
Marijuana plants require special conditions in order to take up the necessary minerals from the soil. A lockout condition happens when the roots are not able to uptake the nutrients, which are essential for the healthy growth of the cannabis plants. This usually happens due to particular chemical conditions, such as the soil having alkaline pH.

However, the problem is easy to resolve if identified at an early stage. Cannabis growers need to discard their old growing medium and soil, and keep adding new ones at the right acidity levels. This is similar to using a new bottle of medicine, rather than keep using an old bottle, which has been exposed to the environment.
Marijuana plants usually produce reduced growth and their foliage turns yellow. Plant parts also become lifeless and lose their turgidity. These plants may also lose some leaves, which really slows down the growth. If the marijuana plants are in the flowering stage, the pistils may start to turn, therefore reducing the production of the vital cannabis buds.
The common reasons that cause these conditions are the use of water at incorrect pH, the buildup of additional salts, and overfeeding the weed plants.
