To: Ms. Kiklas (skiklas@allworldtravel.com)
From: Eric Rivera (erivera@carnival.com)
Subject: Carnival Student Tour Package Inquiry
Ms. Kiklas,
Your message regarding student package deals has prompted me to send you a response. We, at Carnival cruise lines, would like to thank you for thinking about our cruise line as an option for these students. Carnival cruises has reached the number one spot by appealing to younger customers. Unfortunately, Carnival has made many changes in the recent past:
According to the editor-in-chief of Cruise Week, Mike Driscoll, the partying of many high school and college students caused many travel agents to complain
Changed policies in 1997 in relation to underage drinking and partying from the age of 18 to 21 and required more chaperoning of school groups
The problem was still present so Carnival stated that no persons under the age of 21 without supervision of an adult over the age of 25 will be allowed on the ship
Carnival cruise lines discourage chaperoned tours
Vice president of marketing, Vicki Freed, claims, ““We will turn them back at the docks, and they will not get refunds.”
Now more of a family-oriented cruise with more fun-filled, exotic destinations that allow our guests to escape from everyday troubles
Carnival now attracts more than one million people from around the world every year with a 98% approval rate

Carnival does not believe that your students are unruly and disruptive, but I am sorry to inform that since there are no exceptions to this rule. I will not be able to assist you in your pursuit of finding a package deal at Carnival for students. Please message me back if you have any other questions or inquiries. I will be very happy to help you. We hope you and your current students find another option. Carnival would be happy to have all of you on our cruise lines as soon as these terms have gained approval. Thank you for your understanding!

Safe travels,
Eric Rivera

Eric

One of the Trends of the Royal Caribbean is entertainment. This cruise offers many different types of attractions and shows. Carnival Cruise Line has a history of passengers falling off or jumping off their ships, about 30 incidents a year are reported. Some of those passengers have unfortunately passed away because of this. If Carnival Cruise Line knows this, then why don’t they go above and beyond for their own guest’s safety? They should have had more cameras, more detectors, and more employees that care enough about the passengers to not let them get so intoxicated.…

Carnival Corporation is considered the leader and innovator in the cruise travel industry. Carnival has grown from two converted ocean liners to an organization with two cruise divisions (and a joint venture to operate a third cruise line) and a chain of Alaskan hotels and tour coaches. Corporate revenues for fiscal 2001 reached $4,535,251,000 and net income of $926,200,000. Carnival has several “firsts” in the cruise industry: first to carry over one million passengers in a single year, and the first to carry five million total passengers. Currently, Carnival’s market share of the…

Carnival is a low-cost and customer oriented company which provides fun for a broad market. (Exhibit1 illustrates the core competiveness and key activities of CCL.) “Fun Ship” theme is the key competitive advantage of CCL which “wants to think of the boat as the destination, and the ports as secondary”. At the same time, they use various promotional channels and wide ticket price range to attract broader market. Low cost strategy, customer friendly service and efficient product distribution enable CCL to be the leading company in the cruise industry.CCL performed well in the past and boasts bright future market, but there is still a large room of strategic improvement to break the bottleneck and achieve an even stronger market position.…

: Though I concede that Health Cruises do not reach the break-even point and is very likely to make loss at this situation, I suggest them to keep running this trip from a long term perspective. The company should not consider only financial issue in operating business and miss an opportunity to make huge profits and create new spectrum of service. If Health Cruise efficiently proceed this trip and offer fine quality of service to these 200 passengers, this package cruises would go famous through word of mouth and gain effective advertising effect. Also, the company can better understand the operating system of its product and reconstruct its business and financial system to make profit. Therefore, instead of losing enormous amount of fixed costs by cancelling this whole cruise, I believe Health Cruises should present its product regardless of its current financial status.…

Being out in the middle of the ocean on a “magical” cruise ship is my definition of perfection. Disney World is known to be the most magical place in this world but that also holds true with the Disney Cruise Line. I have personally been on five cruises, and all have been with Disney, and I have never enjoyed myself more than being on those boats. Disney Cruise Line has a total of four ships and each have their own distinctive design, with beautiful gold swirls on the sides. Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and the Disney Fantasy were all created specifically with families in mind. There is no other cruise line I would rather be on than the Disney. Over the years, many things have changed about a cruise, but I have never had a bad experience. Each trip on a Disney cruise ship has been an…
