Maleficent Ideology
The movie Maleficent has a lot of meaning into it. It gives us some ideas and thoughts throughout the whole movie because it was the director’s ideology and his thoughts shaped how the movie was produced. Ideology isn’t everything about a movie but it tells us what’s the most important in that particular movie In Maleficent, the ideology shows up throughout the movie but I can see it and understand it the most when it’s almost at the end of the movie. The whole movie talks about love and how this person loved that and so and so. When the movie starts, Maleficent meets Stefan and “he steals something far more valuable”. Stefan stole her heart. They fall in love and Maleficent believes him and loves him dearly. Later on, Stefan betray Maleficent …show more content…
Maleficent cared for her when the three fairies that were supposed to care for her couldn’t and she sent her servant raven to play with her and to entertain her. She also saved Aurora’s life once. Maleficent, as shown in the movie, tries to undo the curse but fails to because it has to be undone from a true lover’s kiss and she is in sorrow. Then, Aurora likes this prince and Maleficent notices this and since she really wants to save Aurora, she brings the prince to Aurora to kiss her. He does kiss her, but she doesn’t wake up from the curses. In sorrow, Maleficent kisses Aurora and surprisingly she wakes up from the curse. The true love wasn’t the guy she liked but it was Maleficent. The director made clear that true love isn’t always about romance, it’s about how truly you care about them, and love them, and would sacrifice anything for them. The love that was shown was like a mother love. It needs loyalty, friendship, and caring. True love wasn’t about prince charming and kisses, it was about unconditional love. Stefan still tries to get revenge and in the end he dies. It clearly shows that revenge does you no good and that it would sooner or later, destroy
