Grandparents are important and influential persons in all people's lives. They are those people who take care of you and love you. They are special persons who can give you wise advice.
My grandfather, Muhamud bin Othman, was my inspiration. Although he died in March of 2002, he showed me how important life really was. My grandfather was just like my father. Although I had my real father around me, my grandfather was the one who was always there for me. No matter what happened in my life, he was always the one who looked beyond my faults.
It seemed like no matter what I done, I was always a perfect little boy to him. My grandfather was great at many things. He was a faithful mosque member/worker, understanding, and humorous. My grandfather loved to go to mosque. When it came to mosque, he served in many auxiliaries. When he was down and sick, he was still attending mosque. My grandfather always taught me respect for others, and they showed me with their experience that love and feelings are important things in my life and that I don't have to pay attention to material things or what people externally look like.

To describe my grandfather I have to say that they are beautiful people that I admire because they are so active and so healthy. Even though my beloved grandfather are old, but he are always have a strong desire to enjoy life. In addition, the most important thing is that he has full of love and offer it to our families. My grandparents are a huge mixture of culture and nationalities because they come from different countries. For example, from my mother's side my grandfather is from Spain, and my grandmother is also from Spain, but from a different city. From my father's side, my grandfather is from Venezuela, and my grandmother is from Italy. Even though this is a huge mixture, my grandparents have a very good relationship.
My four grandparents have a goal in common in their lives; their goal is to see our family full of happiness and to see us

I am thankful for my grandparents because they took me in when no one else could. They jumped in the moment I needed and were there for me then and still are now. They put up a wall upstairs and I officially moved in I have been living with them for four and half to five years now. My grandma and I also bake and make food together. My grandmother was the one who made me interested in cooking and baking. Every night she would make herself a salad or something she liked, she would make something else for my grandfather, and them for me. She did this almost every night of every week and never ate until we had our food. They’re loving because they always put me first and make sure that I am doing good in school and that I am happy. If we ever go on a trip they will go somewhere for me even if they don’t want to because they want to make my experience the best that they possibly can. My grandparents are simply two of the most wonderful people I have ever met.…

Many grandparents in the United States (US) are finding grandparenthood different from what they expected. Instead of the occasional visits from their grandchildren, they have taken on the role of primary parents to their grandchildren. According to 2000 US Census data, six million (8.4 percent) of all children under the age of 18 are living in grandparent or other relative-maintained households across the nation. The Census further found that nearly 5.8 million grandparents are living in households with one or more of their own grandchildren under the age of 18. More than 2.4 million of these grandparents are primarily responsible for meeting the basic needs of these children. In Alabama, more than 113,000 (10.1 percent) children are now living in these conditions.…

The grandmother, who lives alone, does not speak a word throughout the movie. Her lack of emotion and inexpressive personality is perhaps what makes this movie so sad. It posits her as the helpless, lonely and disabled one, with no voice or will to even defend herself or get angry at her grandson, which makes the viewer sympathise with her. The contrast between this aspect of her persona is at complete odds with her grandson’s active, lively, and loud personality. This is probably the intended effect of the producers. We see the grandmother going out of her way to make her grandson happy, and his unappreciative rejection of her efforts. It reminds us of how the younger generation tend to be to involved in their own needs and wants, and neglect the older generations in pursuit of our own selfish motives. I feel however, that this movie only depicts some types of grandchildren and some types of grandparents. It may be all too easy to assume the younger generations as the selfish and self-involved party, and the older generation as the victimised and helpless one. This movie should not be too overly championed as the truth of how intergenerational contact occurs. Furthermore, the differences between the two characters is made wider due to their living in totally opposite landscapes, one in the city, while the other in the village. Also, the lack of contact throughout their lives should also be considered when…

My grandfather is a schmuck. Yet to him, that insult is doubly offensive, because he is also anti-Semitic. He tried to stop my father, who was raised Catholic, from marrying my mother, who was raised Jewish. He recently divorced my grandmother, after 58 years of marriage. My grandfather has told me many stories, most of which were either exaggerations for the more boring ones or altogether facetious, but always mind-numbingly dull. In fact, I have fallen asleep on the telephone with him before, only to wake up to his snarling, growling voice reprimanding my ear. He also repeats stories many times, because his memory is equivalent to that of a mosquito. I have to thank him three times for any gift, which is always money, because if I don't, he forgets and refuses to send a $20 check for the next occasion.…

As a child, I didn’t get to see my grandfather that often because he lived in a different town than we did. When he did come for a visit, it was amazing. His entire being was enthralling to me; he had a signature smell, which was a mixture of aloe plants and new writing paper just out of its plastic package. His appearance was always so fastidious; I used to imagine that he went through a gigantic starching press with his clothes, as their stiff cleanliness seemed to extend to him. His face and skin looked pristine, and his teeth were sparkly white. He carried himself in a sophisticated manner and was genuinely polite. I looked up to my grandfather very much, and I can proudly say I inherited many of his qualities.…
